I had one of these as a kid:
It's called a Samoyed and an uncle got him for me when I was little. He was a great dog, but my dad had to give him away because he was a real bad hole digger and would really mess up the back yard and get out.
ETA: Awesome tale, huh?

Before my wife and I got our lab, I was pushing for a rott, but she was a little concerned with their stubborn nature.

We prolly staying in NOLA permanently, so I want the wife to have a ferocious looking mf'er for running and also to patrol the house

My wifes aunt has two pure bred's and they let them breed. Just in case your guy falls through. Probably could get it to you on the cheap, if not free

I'll keep that in a mind..we are probably a year away..i think a new puppy around x-mas time will buy me some more time on not having a baby

If i cant get a husky, i will have some sort of badass dog like that, or a doberman.
Does anybody know what dog is a better guard dog?? It seems like the doberman would be..But i went to school with a guy who has had German Shepherds all his life and he swears by them..That they will protect family and they train easily.

You can train any decent sized dog to be a good guard dog
In your case, you'll have to stop fricking it long enough to train it
