The new update on ps5 is really cool they did for this if you’ve been a ps fan for a long time. You can sort of alter the aesthetic of the UI and just general overall vibe to your favorite era of PlayStation

Same. My really like what they pulled off here. Somehow it realt honestly does fully capture that ps2 era perfectly while maintaining all the modern quality of life functions. I’ve tried ps3 as well it’s ok but doesn’t as good a job since that console was the most bland anyway. Haven’t tried ps4 and idk if they even did one ps1 idk how it would work.
I would really like them to bring back the avatar background characters for the Home Screen I believe came with ps3 and I know it was on the ps4. I miss having 2B in her sexy skirt greeting me on start up. Imagine one with Eve from stellar blade for 3.99. That is easy money Sony

I’m still confused about why they took away background avatars. Maybe it just can’t work with the ps5 layout but it’s not very different than the ps4 only the place the avatar would go is smaller

I didn’t have 3 or 4 so those don’t hit home like 1 and 2. Honestly, 5 may have grown to be my favorite. It’s simple but pleasant

Yeah I agree, the PS2 theme really hits the nostalgia for me. Every time I hear that boot up sound and the scrolling sounds Im taken back to elementary school playing the Jak and Daxter games with my friends. Also I did briefly use the PS3 theme and had Skyrim installed, those two sounds combined was a Christmas 2011 flashback.

I just enjoy it as a nice thing they did for their players. I didn’t even know it was coming until I was playing and a notification for a system update so I saved and did it and all that stuff was there. Was it pre announced?
