I am big on graphics. I'll probably go with the PS3.

another question,
i have a PS2 right now, and have my ethernet cable from my modem plugged into the PS2 so i can play online. Will that work for the PS3? Is there a place to plug in the ethernet cable?

360 all the way...and for all of you saying the xbox costs more...nonsense! Buy an arcade ($200) and go buy a used HD at a local gamestore...much cheaper than a ps3

If you are buying it just to play games then save the money and go with a 360.. If you want more than just a game machine then the PS3 beats the 360 hands down. Mine is part of my home theater system as opposed to just the game machine.

Oh and to let you know, You wont be able to play your Ps2 games on your ps3, unless you somehow come across a 60GB Ps3, but they dont sell them anymore.

Ps3 has wireless internet, FREE internet, and depending on your internet provider (Cox, Bellsouth) its pretty good. Has built in Blu-Ray and has an internet browser on it, so you can go to streaming sites and watch basketball games on your TV if you dont have cable, etc.

360. I have both, and I only use my PS3 for Blu-ray. 360 has better exclusives IMO, and gamespot has repeatedly broken-even or given a slight graphical edge to the 360 over the PS3.

360 vs. PS3 I
360 vs. PS3 II

ETA: Having both systems, I can definitively say that Xbox Live is far superior to PS3's offerings.

Thats the dealbreaker for me. I was told you have to pay a monthly fee for the 360 online use.

I also read that sony is dropping their prices because they arent selling like 360 and nintendo.....which is surprising to me

Graphics
360=PS3

Games
360>>PS3
360's top tier exclusives are more abundant and better than PS3's.

Online
360>>PS3

Home Theater/Entertainment
360<<PS3 cuz of Blu-ray and other cool stuff PS3 can do.

Price
360>PS3
360 is cheaper any way you slice it. The only reason I'd buy an Elite is for HDMI. You just have to decide if that's worth it. No reason to have the bigger hard drive. I've had my 360 for 4 years and still haven't used half the memory.

Xbox Live is about $4 a month and you can usually find cards cheaper than the normal $50/year. It's a small price to pay for a much better online experience. I have both and I'm playing my PS3 more right now but my 360 is my preferred console. If you care about Blu-Ray then get a PS3 if you just want to play games especially online get a 360. Also if you buy a new PS3 you won't be able to play your PS2 games on it so you'll need to keep you PS2 to play them.

If you really want BluRay, get a PS3.

If you do not care about Blu Ray, get a 360 because it does everything else better.

My PS3 stopped working after a year and 3 months. So I wouldn't count on Sony having a much more reliable product.

After dealing with Sony customer service I would buy a 360 in a heartbeat. Sony sucks.

I would also not count out your PS3 having problems. My blu-ray drive went out 6 months into its life and my brother's internal video card went out 3 months into his. However, I have not had the problems with Sony's customer service that is being spoken of here...neither did my brother.

LMAO Sony can't be reliable based on your machine breaking and totally disregard Micro$oft's 33% death rate?
