Phantom blade zero official thread: PlayStation Showcase August 17th

This game is pretty profoundly different than all the souls likes China is cranking out.

Primarily because it is NOT a souls like at all. Thank god.

It is a return to pure hack and slash where the name of the game is being able to execute combos effectively.

You will be able to equip two weapons at once and use them to chain combos that are unique to every possible weapon combinations.

It also is a game with a timer due to the plot of your character only having so long to live being the opening driver of the plot.

The gameplay looks absolutely incredible, people I do actually trust and don’t think are shills like Luke Stephens said it’s incredibly innovative in its combat mechanics and has it as his possible GOTY.

Funny enough a twist of fate happened when black myth took over the world. This game was supposed to release over a year ago but when that made so much money this game got an insane cash infusion and about 14 months to make it even better

Yeah if you read above u laid out how this was supposed to release like over 1.6 years ago but after black myth the studio got an insanely large cash infusion and total rope to expand and improve the game even more than they originally could.

You can just tell this game is so fricking awesome from its trailer. And to date they have shown nothing but side content.


Today they’re doing a 15-20 minute showcase of it with and 11 minute look at the game seeing main story content for this first time.

The time of the showcase is at the end of the clip in the OP. It seems pretty likely a demo build is coming to the public at some time. Tonight would make sense

Also only a 60$ game if you get the standard version. This will definitely be one of the handful of GOTY contenders

Game looks incredible. I also enjoyed seeing the little quick time events built into the set piece combat. I'm one of those weirdos who actually quite liked QTE's back when they were extremely en vouge like 2005-2010.

It just embraces that this is a VIDEO GAME and not some faux high art wanna be movie taking itself seriously.

Still no word on a potential physical release, it's possible there is one at release or maybe one that comes later like Wukong did or maybe not one at all.

PlayStations numbers must be massive internally to turn around and give the game its very own unique showcase on the 17th only a few days after they put out that insane trailer. I know I have already preordered.

It’s also number 1 on steam.

I have the worlds largest supply of copium shoved into my chest for a demo announcement during it.
