PC game recommendation

I'm looking for some sort of game for PC to mess around on. I want some sort of mystery/adventure game that I can play at my own pace that doesn't require lengthy times of undivided attention like a sports game or a FPS. Any suggestions?

Try the Civilizations series. II is my favorite but I'm in the minority--a lot of people prefer II or IV.
The advantage to Civ is you can save the game during your term and come back later, or walk away from your computer during your turn and it will be there when you come back. The downside is it's very addictive and you'll find yourself playing for a long time.

LOVE me some Civilization...just picked back up in the middle of a game on Civ 5 that I hadn't touched since November.

Thanks for the recommendations. I was looking more for a mystery type game that would use problem solving and logic type skills.

It sounds like Alan Wake is what you're looking for. Now I don't know if it's on PC though, sorry

Those are very few and far between.
maybe something like The Longest Journey A bit old, but cheap and a pretty highly rated game.
You can get it on Steam for like $10 and you can try a demo for free
