This is pretty much one of my only options besides paying to have a wire dropped to my room but that's too expensive
Is there an attic above? DIY. It's not rocket science. Pretty simple stuff actually.

You can get 100' Ethernet cord for next to nothing and splice them together

Fa real doh.
I flashed my 7950 with a 7970 bios last night. 1135/1500@1.2 and it was running like I had it over clocked with the stock bios at 1180@1.3. Strange. It wasn't stable though, it wouldn't boot with it like that so I had to boot with default bios and switch to the 7970 one.

I would never splice Ethernet. I don't even like the extenders. Punch it down on both sides and use a proper wall plate.

Definitely doesn't sound like me.
I may look into it more but a lot of reviews I'm reading say that the 500 Mbps powerline adapters should work fine. I'll definitely give those a try before I start drilling holes in my wall and whatnot.

I do it all the time and haven't had any problems...

Mine can get to like 1250/1700

Yeah, it's worth a shot.

Let me get that bios brah
Posted on 6/13/13 at 1:23 pm to brucevilanch
it's my stock bios... I'll find it for you though

I would appreciate it. My voltage is locked except in trixx. Doesn't make any damn sense.

I'll hit you up my bios. Make sure you change your bios switch on your card to #2 in case something goes wrong (you might already know this).
Here you go

My 680 Classified and 670FTW will get here tomorrow
I also bought a 560Ti that needs a reflow for $25 a few days ago. It should be here tomorrow as well. Finally going to get to work on some socket changing on some MOBOs as well. Lot's of stuff to work on and play with this weekend. I am excited!
I need to call Gigabyte tomorrow and ask them where the F is my other 7870. Figured it would be back by now.

RMAs take fricking forever... Like month or more.
That's how it was for me through NCIX

Yeah I tried a few of those but thanks for the link. Anyone have a line on a modded version?

Yeah, it was almost 2 months with MSI, if you count the defective replacement they sent me, which took a month.
XFX RMA took a little over 2 weeks from the time I sent the card. Pretty decent.
Western Digital and Seagate offer advance replacement with a Credit Card number, as does ASUS. I always opt for that when possible.
