So you are saying this is upside down? I do have bottom ventilation. I feel really stupid now I always assumed the lettering and vent went up.

Most power supply companies these days put their branding upside down on the opposite side so it accommodates top and bottom mounting options.
Having the fan intake from the outside is a best a practice, but not necessarily of dire importance if the logo on the reverse side is not oriented correctly. Not all cases have bottom ventilation, in which case it would make sense for a bottom-mount PSU to have the fan facing up. But nowadays bottom-mount PSUs are becoming standard in cases, and it just so happens that your case is setup appropriately for ideal PSU installation, since you not only have bottom ventilation, but also an easily removable dust filter.
That PSU is not gonna blow up or anything. The worst it will do is shut down from overheating if it overheats. And it probably won't overheat. You're just gonna catch flack from anal-retentive assholes like myself.

The got damn cards didn't come with SLI bridges!
Posted on 11/21/14 at 11:23 pm to DoUrden
NVIDIA cards never do. Your motherboard should've... right? I'm pretty sure every motherboard that supports SLI comes with one... Otherwise, see if your local computer shop has one laying in a bin somewhere.
EDIT: On the newegg listing for that motherboard I'm seeing an SLI bridge. Gotta be in the box somewhere.

OK one final question and I think I am done. From this my ram is running at 1333 not the 2133, do I need to switch banks?
Posted on 11/21/14 at 11:39 pm to DoUrden
Well there you go. If you want a fancier looking one, EVGA sells them for troll-level prices, or you can mod your existing one with some vinyl wrap, glue, and rigid plastic like I did to mine.

No, go into your bios and set the XMP profile.
Anyone with RAM faster than 1333MHz is probably running their RAM at 1333MHz if they have not done this.
EDIT: see screenshot below. This needs to be changed from disabled to one of the available profiles. Profile 1 is probably the one that sets the memory's rated specs. It'll tell you what the speed and timings are.

Will do thanks a bunch, gonna change that and try a benchmark.
Posted on 11/21/14 at 11:45 pm to DoUrden
To clarify, the profile should set the RAM to 2133MHz, 1.6V, and timings of 9-11-11-31

I chose profile one and it did change it to 2133, didn't catch the other settings. I have been at this for 6 hours.
Gonna take a pic (no rats nest) one or two cables I need to re-route but that's something for tomorrow. Time to benchmark the non OC thing.

The blue Drive cables will drive you nuts.

My god, that physics score is almost as high as my 4.7GHz 4770K. Assuming it's boosting to 4.4Ghz or so?
It would be fantastic if you could get 5GHz out of it.

About to run Firestrike and then I will re-run it with the monitor going and let you know.

Intel Extreem isn't monitoring clock speed for some reason. What's the best monitoring software to use?
I am gettin 55-60 FPS in DA:I on ultra now.

Those scores aren't even a good representative for how much of an upgrade it is. At 1440P you're looking at close to double the performance of the crossfire 7950s.

I've generally used CPU-Z to watch it on my second monitor. I think afterburner and/or EVGA PrecisionX both have on-screen display options for CPU clock.

Running at 4.7 This puts me at #70 on 3dmark with my set up and I haven't messed with the GPUs. AMD makes it a lot easier to OC the GPU, nVidia doesn't have the built in OCing capability that CCC has, at least if it does I can't find it.

Messed with the GPU's a bit, up to #36 on 3dmark.
