How did you score all that for $340 shipped?
I got lucky.

Is anything broken?
It could have some problems but it's usually inspected and marked as salvage if it's bad. The last lot I bought only 1 vid card had to be RMA'd and I got it done for free. If I had my machine then I could have fixed it myself as it just needed a reflow on the solder.
I have been buying small lots to get my feet wet but as soon as I flip this stuff and some other stuff I have I am going to start working on getting some pallet loads from distributors I have found.

ETA:
If your solder skills improve.. we can team up for crazy benches! I know what to do(cause the internet) with hardmods on GPUs but don't trust my soldering skills. We could really make some of these nividia cards shine with hardmods. They just need more voltage to them.
I buy the gear and you bring in the craft.
My plans at the end of Titan's life cycle.. solder on EVGA ePower boards to them.

Really and truly as long as it's BGA (Ball Grid Array) it shouldn't be hard at all with my machine. I fooled around with it this weekend on some old stuff I had and it's not going to be too bad. I need a flatter tip for my soldering iron to clean up the left over solder when removing chips but reballing something and putting in on the pads on the MOBO won't be too bad.
ETA: The solder on that pic looks like it was done in a spec ed class

So I should be able to sell a 7870 ghz used for $150 at least? That is if crossfire proves to be too much trouble. Is anyone currently cross firing?

I would sell it on Amazon and I bet you can get $180-$200 for it as long as it's not on sale anywhere else.

I mean when Maxwell arrives.
Sorry let me clarify, when Titans are no longer Top Tier. I would be interested in even doing it now TBH. Sell 1 of my Titans to buy 3x780s/3x8970s then use the left over Titan for a hard modding and benching!

These are my suggestions Gardoki.
1. Cfx 7870GHz will yeaild great result for the price proint
2. Receive a couple more AAA title games you could sell.
3. You could push a good 40-50FPS in Cyrsis/Far Cry if no AA and a few setting turned down.
Overall, it wouldn't be a bad investment.
1. Issues with CFx/SLi setups, they run differently in every game but get better with driver maturity.
2. You won't have the OC head room in CFx as you would have single.
3. PSU requirements, IDK you situation on a power supply
4. HD8xxx series (Volcanic Islands) are about to drop mid-late summer but will be announcing during E3 this week.
My thoughts and suggestions:
Your Tahiti handles games in 1080 quite well and especially with a a modest OC. I say wait and let us see what AMD has to offer with Volcanic Islands.
ETAK:
Disclaimer - I have taken my Lunesta.. please escuse me for errors.. put you get the damn point!

Regarding 1... When I had crossfired 6950s, it was an endless struggle to find the perfect driver set. 12.x would help one game run smoother, while you needed 12.y to fix another. Lots of microstutter.
But, I now have crossfire 7970s, and it's a totally different story. Every game runs great right out of the box. Except for Skyrim. Skyrim will never work with Crossfire. No big deal, though. Just one of my overclocked 7970s can run Skyrim 60fps at max settings, even with my shite-ton of HD Texture mods and other mods.
Regarding 2... This is definitely, quite noticeably true in Z68/PCIe 2.0. I would hope that the OC headroom has improved in Z77 and Z87, and moreso in X79.
But I'm not quite sure what to look for in a motherboard that would have the maximum amount of overclocking headroom for crossfire (preferably being able to run both cards at my maximum overclock achieved with a single card). That, along with the added bonus of a better CPU, would be a huge incentive for me to upgrade to X79 now (as long as it didn't require me buying a $500 motherboard).

I have an 850w gold seasonic so I am good there.
My card didn't OC that well anyway so that's not a big deal. The real question is why bother? Your right in that my card has done great with 1080 so far so what's the point. However coming from you I am surprised. I expected you to tell me to buy 3.

Part of the logic here is for the eventual 1440 jump but that may not happen soon anyway so I am probably better off just waiting. By then I may just get a new card completely.

I only OC my stuff for Benchmarks. I generally turn it all off except for an OC on the CPU for regular use.

I just did it for benchmarks too. The OC didn't improve game play that much so I decided to leave it at stock.
Posted on 6/10/13 at 9:06 am to Mr Gardoki
Exactly how I feel. My machine rips through games anyway so there's no need to push anything.

alright im buying a new vid card this week unless something horrible happens. thinking about that PowerColor 7950 Boost on newegg for $249
Posted on 6/10/13 at 9:31 am to jcole4lsu
I'm getting the video card itch myself. I'm not sure that I am an nVidia guy. I'm going to see what the next generation brings and probably get something to Crossfire.
Hopefully the Classifieds and the water cooling stuff I bought for them will bring a nice price.
