I dunno, $190 shipped?
Ahh...I was hoping for a fire sale. That's what I paid for my 290.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to get everything swapped. I'm manager on duty this weekend...
Worst case, I'll do it next weekend.

It took me like a month to find the time to break mine down and get it to you.
No rush. Trust me.
I am not even sure if I am going to use those parts or just sell them. I think I am going to sell everything I have and build something new anyway.

Yeah, I know, same here. I noticed that they were going for $185-190 after shipping costs. I suppose if you deduct 10% ebay costs, It's more like 168-170 shipped. Looks like HWswap folks are unloading them for $180-185 shipped, so I may try there for everything.

How bad are the celeron processors? This would be for basic document, pictures, spreadsheets, internet usage.
Posted on 8/9/14 at 3:27 pm to Mr Gardoki
They're just basic bottom-of-the-barrel CPUs. Essentially Pentiums with some cache disabled, and Pentiums are essentially i3's without hyperthreading (also lacking some GPU performance and features). A Celery would be fine for basic shite. Just don't expect a lot out of it or try to do more than one basic thing at a time.

Shouldn't be an issue. Sounds like it does what he needs.

I got a sweet new monitor today for a pretty good price off of CL

Yep, except it's using non-volatile NAND. Basically another interface, like SATA express and m.2, to move beyond SATA3 limits.

Performance-wise, the DDR3 interfaced SSD has a read/write latency of 150/<5 microseconds, random read/write of 150K/65K IOPS and sequential read/write of 1GB/760MB per second and is available in 200GB and 400GB capacities.

Im at the point that im still not very good with kbm but a controller feels foreign now
Posted on 8/10/14 at 5:48 pm to SaintLSUnAtl
It will become second nature soon enough. There is a ridiculously high, almost infinite skill ceiling with KB/M, so even when you're good at it, there will still be people who are significantly better.
I bought a controller a few months ago for driving in Watch Dogs. It made driving a lot easier, but in any interface where I need the controller for character movement and camera management at the same time, I feel very inept. I tried it for about 3 minutes in an FPS game, just to see if I could even be sort of ok at it vs. kb/m players. Nope.

don't try the controller in mp fps. Do it for a game like borderlands.
