IDK if you can see it, but my Surround set up was my "favorite" desk set up, just was terrible for gaming. Here is a little evolution.
670s
690
TITANS
780 TIs
My set up and many rigs have changed a lot in the last 6 months since the 780 Ti CUM upgrade, just have been uninterested in computers to take update pics.
...and my favorite picture/card ever....

You got the M-Audios also eh? I love them for recording music. When I'm listening to music though, I turn on my surround sound also. Need that bass.

I never use them, rather my headphones. They are actually not plugged into my rig. Just picked up some cheap speakers for the random time I needed someone to hear the sound also.
EDT:
They sound great to me, but this is just for playing games. Example, the GF and I played through Alan Wake series and Wolf Among Us.

They are good. They are actually a budget studio monitor. They are made for recording music. How much did you pay for them? I got mine for like 100 bucks I think.

It has been a few years, really don't remember but if I had to guess, $120...?

What mobo/ CPU do you have currently?
Posted on 5/2/14 at 8:31 pm to DoUrden
That's not a bad CPU. Does that motherboard allow you to overclock it at all? There's a ton of free performance to be had from it. Hell, you could OC Sandy Bridge chips with the stock cooler. 2500k was by far the best bang for buck gaming chip for its time, simply because of the ease of overclocking without the need for high-end cooling.
But if you're looking for upgrades for the sake of upgrading (which we all do here), I'd say 4770k or better would be the minimum to make it a "noticeable" upgrade, and that still depends on what you're doing with it.
Last year I went from an i7-2600k to 4770k, simply because I'd been using the 2600k for ages and wanted something else. Since my 2600k could do 5.0GHz, and my 4770k tops out at 4.7GHz for an everyday OC, this "upgrade" amounted to about a 5-7% performance boost.

Tried ocing it and it overheats fast, I would have to work on cooling first
Posted on 5/2/14 at 8:51 pm to DoUrden
Really? Those Sandy Bridge chips are supposed to be awesome overclockers.
Posted on 5/2/14 at 8:55 pm to brucevilanch
I tried using the intel tools that came with the chip for OCing and even a slight bump and it would get hot. I may have lost out on the cpu roulette who knows. This is the mobo

Sounds strange, and I don't know anything about that motherboard.
Posted on 5/2/14 at 9:09 pm to brucevilanch
Looking to upgrade anyway so I may try and see what I can do, if I burn it out oh well.
Posted on 5/2/14 at 9:18 pm to DoUrden
