What would you consider reasonable? There's a huge range of performance. Before we start talking budgets and builds, please visit the link in my sig. You don't have to read the whole thing, but reading from the introduction all the way through the video card section will give you a better idea of what you want out of your first build as far as performance. Let me know if you have any questions. Once you have a general budget in mind, we can go from there.

First time playing Alan Wake on PC. Only played it with a friend on 360 years ago. The game looks awesome @ 1440 and much better than I remember.

So, I keep getting the upgrade bug and then I dig deeper into what is currently out there and it seems to me that I really wouldn't be upgrading unless I buy 2 X 780 ti or more. Am I missing something or am I a tweener right now that needs to wait for the next generation to get a big enough benefit to upgrade?
I have a 3770k and 2 X 680 GTX Classifieds in SLI. Everything else in the system is fine and I don't even need to think of upgrading any of it at this time.
I'm thinking stand pat right now with what I have.

I get that bug too but I do think it's better to make bigger upgrades. At least then you really notice and appreciate it.

Yeah, maybe I just need to tinker with what I have.
I still haven't put the Classifieds under water because I was having an SLI issue. I have a new motherboard to put in that should take care of that and allow me to SLI properly without BSOD and random shutdowns. May I just need to put that motherboard in and reconfigure and put the 680's under water.
Then take pictures and show off.

Any 2 GK110 cards would be a huge upgrade to those GK104s.
EDT: Then we do have the ever growing rumor that we will see Maxwell cards around March 2014. I remember Titan rumors really start to gain some some ground about this time lat year. Hopefully Maxwell does come close to march. I've been with GK110s for almost 1yr so far, these 780 TIs don't offer much of an upgrade from my Titans. So i'm really ready to

Oh, I agree. It's just that knowing myself I'd get 2 X 780 ti Classifieds and that's going to set me back $1500+ and I don't think I want it THAT bad. 2 X GTX 680 Classifieds will still run pretty much everything out there at very high settings from what I can tell and they'll do it well. I'm hitting about 17000 on 3DMark11 with them so they're no slouch.
I think the answer is too see what the early/late spring season brings and if any of those rumors are true.
Thanks as always for you input. It's much appreciated.

I almost lost a son just now. I walked into the house to see him dancing on my keyboard. Red was the only thing I saw.

1. What was he dancing to?
2. Popping the arse at an early age is signs of ghey.

You can sell your cards. I would have purchased Classys but they weren't out for launch.
Its our hobby and the cost is silly sometimes, I paid almost 2300 for 2xTitans back in February and sold them both for almost 1400, that was a pretty big lost. If you worked for it and that is what you want, buy it man!

Q701 headphones came in. They sound great -- best part is the accuracy and the sound stage. So much less bass, which makes me happy. They are much more open than my Philips headphones, but the volume is the same, so given all the ambient noise around me (portable AC or fan at night, TV, GPU fan while mining etc), maybe I should look into a cheap amp, if it would make them a little louder.

What Philips headphones did you have before? And anybody in here have any experience with a stand mic? I'm now in the market for a new mic because i cant seem to keep a attachment mic working
