Yeah, that one is baffling to me. I've literally never, ever experienced a situation in which a game engine could not run properly based on clock speed if said clock speed were verified stable. Have you tested this with an AMD card? I've never had the opportunity to overclock an nvidia card, ever, so I don't know what all it involves (though apparently need a modded bios to do the level of OCing that I would want. I wonder if the modded bios has anything to do with the crashes).

I'll bump one or two 7970s to 1215-ish tomorrow and run AC4. I don't think my top card can do more than 1220 at 1.3v. It's kind of a dud, low ASIC score. I need to move it to my second slot and use my better 7970 as the top card. It will do 1300.

Do a reboot and retest first. If same result, downclock mem to stock and retest. If score goes down, leave mem stock and downclock core little by little (leave voltage alone) until your score shows an increase compared to the test directly before it. Keep downclocking core until score trends downward. Then you can re-overclock mem and retest at the new core speed.

If the above test shows that your core is fine (score decreases appropriately as you downclock), then try the same experiment with your mem. Or, if your score actually goes up (or barely changes) when you bring the mem back to stock, you already found the problem. Doubtful it's the memory, though. Unstable memory generally results in hardlock during the benchmark.

Where are yall getting these bios files and what are you using to flash them?

Don't worry about memory right now. Leave that at 0 and jack up core clocks at the intervals I sent you.

Remember GK110s clock at +13 intervals only. So your clocks could be higher/lower than you think.

I would love to make the transition from XboxOne to PC for my FPS's. I always use a pc monitor anyway and I used a XIM3 mouse/keyboard converter when I played on 360. I have an LG IPS LED monitor with a 2ms refresh rate but I don't know jack shyt about gaming towers and i don't want to just go spend 2G on the name brands. Can someone help me with buying/building a reasonably priced tower that will perform and keep up with the competition? I'm very competitive and while I am being pretty cheap I guess If I perform poorly I want it to be because of lack of skill and not because the other nerd has a better pc.
