Remember a while back when I was saying how I needed a Windows based tablet so I could run Silverlight? Well Windows RT or Windows mobile will not run Silverlight so that left me with buying an $800 or so tablet which I didn't want to do. I bought a Note 8.0 instead and have been using this app to remote into my desktop which is running anyway during the day. I can access the site I need to that runs Silverlight and any other Windows only based info I need.
LINK
What an awesome app. I am at my friends house and fooling around I can remote into my full desktop.
I need to try to play a Steam game on it. Maybe something turn based due to lag.

Thanks for sharing this Stout. I use FileZilla to remotely DL/UL files from my home server but this seems even more useful. I didn't know anything like this existed for free on a mobile device.

I use splashtop, but it wasn't free. Might have to look into the microsoft one.

Scumbag UH isn't even streaming right now. Called off my 24h stream for that douche.

A lot of times I also need to add photos to that Silverlight site I access for my business. I use Google Drive to send the pics from my phone or tablet to the desktop Google Drive app on my PC then use the remote app to upload the photos. It sounds complicated but it's very easy and saved me from having to buy a Windows tablet that was running 8.1 for $600+ which was really just another laptop. I was trying to avoid that and prefer Android anyway.
There's also an App called Pruvan Direct that costs $20 per month that I might try for the photo part but Google Drive is working for me for free right now so no need at this point. Only benefit would be maybe less bandwidth usage since it compresses the pictures more than Drive does.

Yeah, didn't know of a free solution. Then again i've been using iOS since forever. Finally switching over to Android.

Is it better? I've been an iPhone whore since the first one, and my upgrade is coming up in March. Have not been impressed with the wife's iPhone 5.

IDK, my Nexus 5 still hasn't arrived. The only experience I have with Android is my newNexus 7. Stock Android is beautiful and extremly user friendly. You can actually "multi-task" on a mobile device.
Jelly Bean sold me on it and KitKat is even better for some reason. They fixed some of the things I thought was not intuitive or natural. It feels so far ahead of iOS right now, especially with iOS 7 taking a step backwards in some areas.
Now, you still can't beat Apple's hardware and i'm still a huge fan of Macs and OS X. They are dropping the ball big time in the mobile sector though.

I can have a video running in PiP while using other apps on my Note. It's freaking sweet.

That is a really nice stock feature on the Samsung tablets and phones.

I bought an inspector that works for me a cheap Hisense tablet from Wally World. After having this Note for a week I feel like a dick for giving her that.
It gets her job done though since the app she needs is way more simple than what I need.
