I remember my first dedicated graphics card.

ATI Radeon 9800 Pro. First card I ever watercooled and overclocked.

Some of you guys might not remember BFG. They had been the EVGA before EVGA became EVGA.

BFG 7800 GT (Which was a GS with factory OC, really nothing special) Was the 660Ti/760 of it's day.

EDT: Before that it was a 6300 GT which I can't find a picture of. The card wasn't even a gaming card but really just a video card. The 7800 was my first real dedicated gaming GPU.

Mine was:

Nvidia 6800 Ultra

I think I paid 600 bucks for it at the time.

6 series but which model?

EDT: See your edit, thanks.

Think my 7800 was $450, I really don't remember. It was in the $400s though.

I know most people here don't care but i think nvidia's new optimal setting adjustments is big for making pc gaming more mainstream

The FPS slider is a good idea, because I hate when people say "DERP Im RUNING AT MAX SETINGS!" and it turns out they are tolerating a console-riffic 30fps at those settings. Raptr has a similar slider, but of course none of us here need to use any of these apps. We are perfectly capable of figuring out our own optimal settings, and we understand that every setup will perform differently depending on GPU/mem overclocks, CPU, and even PCB variances.

But yes, I agree. If these apps simplify things enough for console gamers to consider the PC, that's a good thing.

I know you are hard on this also.

Anything under steady 60FPS, including frequent drops... is not considered "I Can Run This Setting".

It's my second. First one was an HIS IceQ X Turbo 6790

which will be getting replaced once the R9 comes in. It's been in my rig for 2 and a half years now so I figured it's time to upgrade since pretty much everything else has been upgraded now

For those of you who also use your miners as gaming PCs, are you crossfiring up your GPUs or just playing off a single? My original plan was to crossfire mine up but I am not sure I will be able to now with how much space I plan on putting in between each GPU from the risers.

Crossfire disabled, individual bat files for each card. When I want to game, I just close down CGminer for the first card and use just one 7970. Can't do max settings at 1440p with a single 7970, but it's still decent.

I would freak out with that mess. Everything has to be put away properly in my world. One reason I don't want a mining machine because it just feels out of place. Maybe I'll make something in the attic?
