But a 7990 is a triple slot card. Most ITX cases only have room for dual slot cards.

No.. 690 and 7990 are both dual slot.

I loved the 690 but it was limited by 2GB VRAM. The card was awesome and had the BEST VRAM of any card on the market. The Titan and 690 are the only 2 which have/had a certain Samsung VRAM which OCs +600 - +800 stable.

The difference IMO are just the terrible drivers and "supposed" fix for CFx problems compared to smooth SLi.

EDT:
None the less Blue.. $700 + 8 free games is a hell of a deal.

For realz? Wow.. what a great price.

Only problem is next month the R9 280X will almost match the 7990 with much smoother frames.

I thought the 280X is the successor to the 7870? And the 290X is the successor to the 7970?

frick apple and their proprietary bullshite. There's no damn reason that a power adapter should be $100. Anyone know anyone that has a 30" cinema display so I can borrow the adapter just to see if mine works?

As far as I know the R9 280X is the successor to 7970 and will their flagship card. Who cares though..

What price do you think it'll release at? I can only assume that performance for it will be 20% better, but that's just a guess

I just put one of my 8350s for sale on Amazon. I am dumping a bunch of parts and am about to dump my main rig in preparation for a new build.

I am going to build me about a $500 spare rig with parts I have laying around with a 6300 and 7950 to get me by for now.

If that's the case, then it better blow the frick away a 7970

No bro.. sell that 6300 and keep the 8350. I use my spare rigs not for gaming but mostly work shtt. Meaning you want the CPU arse with those 8 physical cores.

Well.. I think we are looking at a 30% increase. ROPs and texture units make a huge deal and the lack of a high number of ROPs is what kept the 7970 down even with the 2300 sharders.

If the 7970 had the ROPs of a 780/Titan it would be right there with those GK110 chips.

I might be shooting a little high with $649 price point, let us say $599 max. That price will probably be closer.

Well I am going to sell the spare rig when I am finished with it as well so instead of hooking up an 8350 that has never even been opened I would rather use this 6300 and sell the 8350 to put that money towards my new build.

If I could get $1000 or so for my main rig minus the 650D then I would be happy.

Think I am going ITX this time which means a 4770K since no ITX 2011 boards.

Don't you have a ton of mechanical HDDs? iTX cases don't take kindly to 3.5" drives.

None the less, iTX is the way to go. I have done a crap tone of APU iTX builds but no Intel iTX. That is about to change though. I have 2 options right now, build an Air iTX build in this Fractal Node 304 or Water iTX build in a Mercury S3 from CaseLabs.

What I do know though is this... I love the new Z87 ASUS iTX boards. Even the cheesy Black/Red RoG boards looks great.

Nope. Just 2 1TB drives right now and I will add in 2 2TBs on my next build along with my SSD. The Node 304 has plenty of room for HDDs and pretty sure that's the case I am going with.

I already have everything picked out with the exception of the vid card. If nothing wows me about the new AMD cards I am looking strongly at a Titan and at worst a 780.

That's the board I have picked out as much as I am not a fan of black and red.

If you aren't going SLi don't waste money on a Titan. You could never benifit for 6GB if so. A strongly OC'd Classy/Lightning/HoF could can keep up with a Titan.

I know right??? The Impact is an awesome board. Has everything you could possibly need then some. If I go Z87 iTX instead of Z77 iTX it will be tough to stay away from the Impact over the Deluxe.

Obviously I won't be able to SLI so it will be between a 780 and whatever AMD has out I guess.

Kind of disappointed to be going 4770K instead of 4930K but I really, really want to shrink my build down to ITX.

Man, I have been wanting ITX and it was just going to be a spare HTPC rig but now I just want my main rig to take up less space.

I am still going to do another small build for HTPC/Steam Box for my entertainment center and so I can add an Avermedia card to use it as a streaming PC so I can start streaming again.

ETA:

quote:

CPU Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core $334.96
CPU Cooler Corsair H80i 77.0 CFM Liquid $86.99
Motherboard Asus MAXIMUS VI IMPACT Mini ITX LGA1150 $214.99
Memory Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 $127.50
Storage Samsung 840 Series 250GB 2.5" SSD $164.99
Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM $85.98
Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM $85.98
Video Card MSI GeForce GTX 780 3GB $665.91
Case Fractal Design Node 304 Mini ITX Tower $89.99
Power Supply SeaSonic 750W ATX12V / EPS12V $95.98

Total: $1953.27

Subject to change. Whats the best 120MM closed loop cooler?

You should custom loop that build... There is so much overclocking potential in there!

Edit: Nvm you're going with the node... The H80i is probably one of the better ones
