price-gouging is in full effect on eBay.
Noticed this too. The reference 7970s are going for $400, and most used cards are going for retail prices and you don't get the free games

I'm not going to do it until I can get the 7970 I want, new, at a reasonable price. Will have to wait until the bitcoin frenzy dies back down.
Also, I already have 2 of the 3 free games that are shipping with AMD cards.
Not to mention, I'm running a 1000w PSU, and it's powering a very overclocked 2600k, a very overclocked 7970, 5 gentle typhoons and 5 coolermaster LED fans, D5 Vario water pump, 4 sticks of ram, 2 WD blacks, an SSD, and a blu-ray drive. Accounting for capacitor aging, it's really pushing it.

So far I have taken my 7870 from 1050 to 1150 core clock and been stable on valley. I also messed with the settings of my gpu fan for the first time and took my valley temp from 65(pre OC) to 58(post OC. From what I have read on overclock.net 1200 is prob as far as I will get a 7870 before I have to adjust voltage.

When you guys find a stable core clock like 1175 for me, do you leave it there or take it back to say 1150 to be safe?

Bump up the voltage and push it more

How much do you want for that 670?

Getting bored with the 570?
Posted on 4/15/13 at 9:01 pm to bluebarracuda
570 has always been just a temp since I got it so cheap. I am still waiting on new cards to release but would take a 670 for now if the price is right.

I've heard AMD isn't releasing anything this year. I think Nvidia may be coming in Q4

Damn. Not going to wait that long.
I came real close to ordering two more 570s the other day for a triple SLI set up but talked myself out of it.
May just get a 7970 for now then another one when I sell this 570

If you find one under $400 that isn't voltage locked and accommodates a full-cover block, lemme know.

With how close the current price is between the 670 and 7970, the 7970 can't be beat. Especially when it comes with 2 great/resellable games and one DLC. Nvidia doesn't have anything with their cards (or at least the 670s don't).
But as ilikelsutoo and I talked about earlier, most of the better 7970s are OOS stock due to the number of people wanting to get them for mining

That card is voltage locked. Pretty good price, just no good for a custom loop or big OCing
Still a good card for the price for a person wanting do a small OC and have great performance

I saw it on r/buildapcsales. Didn't look at the specs
Posted on 4/15/13 at 9:20 pm to stout
Saw it on there too, along with 2 other 670 that are on sale for the same price.
I'm surprised nvidia hasn't dropped their prices on the 670 to compete with the 7950/7970 prices. I guess they have a large enough fan boy backing so they can charge that kind of money

Oh, lovely.
There are at least two revisions of the card you linked. The one with a single DVI port is the reference design that the blocks will fit. The one with two DVI ports is revision, where the block won't fit.
And of course, Tigerdirect's description of the card says one DVI port, but the photo shows two. But other photos in the same listing show one DVI port.
