No the mother fricker sold it to someone else.

We agreed on $1,100, sent me the invoice, I paid the invoice, but then he turned around and accepted a higher offer 2 days later

I bought all my 1st Edition Shadowless base set by purchasing holos separately and then buying a complete Uncommon and Common set after.

Think it saved me a ton by bargain shopping my holos.

That sounds like a decent price, but idk, I don't follow the market much anymore.

I want all 1st Edition Shadowless holos in every language, already have them in Spanish.

Edt: I opened 4 old packs of evolution. I hate those cards, but man I love opening packs.

Do you and your friends ever go in on cases? I would love to put in on a factory case order.

Set down, bust open and split the hits.

No, that was fake news.

He is taken a break. Nothing is wrong, just wants to see if it helps the quality of content. Kinda like trying out a diet, you know?

Amazing price. The shadowless zards are $300ea (there were two), the 1st ed venusaurs are $350ea (there were 2). If they were anything better than PSA 7, I would have made some serious money.

PSA 8 1st ed venusaur is $499, PSA 9 is $900
PSA 8 Shadowless zard is $795, PSA 9 is $1,200

I used to buy cases of products back when I played, so I could get most of the competitive cards and sell off everything else. We would do a draft and then play with those draft decks. Whole lot of fun doing that.

I quit buying cases of the new stuff since everything has such high print runs and you can get boxes on sale for close to $80 not long after release.

Edit: The evolutions set is pretty dope! I have PSA 10 full arts of the 3 starters

Wait what? I have 2 1 played and unplayed. Think I paid 80 in 2013. Same with Blastoise

It's the last of the newish sets that I seem to like.

Nothing beats the old art style though. I need to educate myself again on the sets. I just don't know them anymore.

I would hope he just hands off a lot of videos and he takes a huge break or semi retires. It would be kind of dumb to take down his channel. It is a great advertising platform for his company.

If he retires, I bet he hands it off to Luke, but still maintaining ownership? I doubt Luke could afford to buy out the company

I like how they used a lot of the OG artworks for some of the cards. I have a BGS 9.5 (basically PSA 10) Charizard holo from the set, and a bunch of the pre-release staff holos

Oh for sure. The holo patterns in the base 2 through skyridge sets are the best

I don't like the BGS 10 Pristine grade. Nothing is ever perfect

I do however, rather BGS for sports cards. BGS grades the autograph.

Yea the black label is bullshite until they have automated computer grading that can grade a card with no subjectivity.

PSA authenticates and grades autos too. Actually got two of my gold stars auto'd by the illustrator last week and will be sending off to PSA

Damn, you see how long I've been out of it.

At the time I collected hard, BGS was the only company grading autos.

Do you go to the monthly show at the Holiday Inn on Airline right by MSY?

Edt: I'm sorry, he moved it to the Ramada Inn. I've known Mr. Roland since 1997. We used to stay all day at those things as a kid. We lived to attend card shows.

I didn't know this existed

But I doubt I would since I don't really care about anything collectible outside of Pokemon (and my LSU auto'd jerseys I guess)

Look at my post above.

They have some Pokemon there, also all sorts a shtt like coin collecting.

I remember during the bennie baby craze the rooms were loaded with those demons.

Interesting. Is it like a memorabilia show where people come and sell memorabilia?

Yeah.

Mostly sports cards, but there is Magic and Pokemon collectors too.

Tables are mainly for the card shops, big online collectors, etc. But anyone can get a table if you want.

I used to bring my collection (top end stuff) or thing so thought would trade well. It is fun just speaking to others about the hobby, trade, etc.

It's only $5 bucks to get in and a raffle every hour where you win $20 dollars worth of packs out of opened boxes.

I will try to make the Feb 1st show.
