I'm think of venturing over after I buy my new mtb.

Where are you in Bama?

I went to a cool place this summer to trail ride but you almost needed a mountain bike. The place was Brewton, AL. Huge hills, it was basically the butthole or tail of the Appalachian mountain range. But a lot more elevations than I expected. Really needed a hard tail MTB at less.

Road cyclist are queer. Gravel cyclist are cool. MTBers are rad.

All that sounds ghey, I know. Sort of the point. But truth in it.

I'm about to put down cash on a new rig. Carbon fiber frame, etc. But was holding back. I didn't know anything about what I would like to ride. Im always flipping parts on and off, little things. It is addicting.

So you can get a 3600 to 4.3 but an X won't go over that? Weird move by AMD. I'd have definitely bought a 3600 then and saved the 50.

Steve from Gamers Nexus made a pretty good video about the 2.

Steve needs to start cycling.

Edt: GNx putts out a decent product now. I put them up there with PCper and L1Techs on some things.

Crazy I really enjoy Linus's content now. I don't listen to any technical he says but loves watching all the different projects. Dude is a hella hard worker.

Yeah Linus does some crazy stuff. Linus, Steve, Paul's Hardware, BitWit, and Jayz2Cents are my go to guys.

Why?

Edt: They say very little. It is surface lvl content. That is the problem I have with it.

Not dogging you or them, I just don't understand why ppl, unless you are new at this would waste their time.

Look at my edit. Not dogging you or them. Let's start there.

If you are new it is a good place to start.

Hacks? Mmm, not exactly. They never dive in and out of technical details. They seem to know very little on the software side.

I look at their content like this.

They are basically reading the Nutritional Facts on the back of the box and testing the flavor. Surface level, not going into much more than that.

It's a great place to start. But if you are hungry to understand how these things truely work then you will start looking for those nerdy details on your own.

Again, it is a good place to start.

Fyi not that long ago Paul was a goofy product showcase guy for NewEgg. He is okay, just not enough on the technical side for me.

Are there any YouTubers you would recommend for more technical stuff? Not that I'm necessarily ready for that. Still learning new stuff every day.

I learned how to do my build watching some of their videos along with help I got here. I thought those guys were top shelf, guess I was wrong

Easy to understand with coverage.

Yea a lot of technical channels, popular one is the EEVlog.

For PC gaming, computers. Next step would be Level1Techs and PCPer. From there you will find new interest or things you want to understand and search specifics.

A lot of software guys, but that is even more specific.

Thanks, I'm going to check those channels out. I'm hungry for learning almost to the point of obsession Kinda like Neo when tank was uploading all of the knowledge to him.

Steve from GN does actually quite a bit of "technical" content and dives into alot more stuff than some of the other tech Youtubers.

He also gets pretty out of the ordinary stuff like interviews with the Intel benchmark company in the 9900k fiasco, VRM design at Computex, and other stuff.

He also has a partnership with Buildzoid who does deep dives into Motherboard design.

Yep, he is one of the only mainstream mainstream ones who does, a good job at it.

Reason I didn't group with likes of the other Goofballs.

Im in Fort Worth, Texas now. Been out here 5 years. Yeah, I'm not looking to spend a ton on a gravel bike, but the Canyon Grail has caught my attention. Depends on how I feel get my new rig. I'm torn between getting an Ibis Ripmo, Yeti SB130 and Evil Offering. I'm wanting to do a ridiculous build, but it's going to cost around 7k.

I just came back from Amirillo. Passed through the area a month ago.

Also worked out of Dallas for a few months on a project. Few out every Monday and back every Friday. Southwest trips there are cheap from NOLA.

Same here.

What I learned is test every one's bike. Find the right geometry and buy that frame. Then kit or part it all after. I love working on the bike.

Edt: YouTube: RidesInJapan (one of my favorite)

I run an 11-40 and 34T 1xby. It's fine for me, idc about bottoming out. I'm on flat land most of the time. All my bikes are converted to 1xbys.

I just started, my phone was losing GPS signal. So stopped it and use ride partners data.

Come to find out my Pixel was turning off GPS when Battery Saver + Display Off.

So started in January, I missed some good months of data showing improvement.
