Fwiw they said on the live stream this is not just a simple port and it's redone from ground up with every feature PC gamers expect (FOV slider, optimization).

I hope they get sensitivities right, and not scale it from consoles like they did in Skyrim and borderlands.

I'm salivating over being able to play team SWAT on guardian and snipers on coag

The GTX 1660 looks to be THE budget king now. $219 is crazy for almost 1070 performance in most games.

My current budget build to give people would be
Ryzen 5 2600 at 154 on ebay
GTX 1660 at 219
GSkill Ripjaws V 16GB 3000Mhz 85 on newegg

1650 is up next. Should be $169 or $179.

I told you $350 isn't entry level.

It still is a budget card

And btw rtx 2060 is entry level for RTX and Ray tracing

I would have agreed with you on previous generations.

This is a Budget, Mid, High classification

New gen

Old gen

I'm confused over what you two are arguing about

He said in another thread that $350 is a budget price.

Maybe now (still wouldn't say that's budget), but it for sure wasn't in previous generations

That's what my argument is.

Now it is
It wasn't before

That's why I had those graphs to show that it is a clear gap between the bottom, mid, and upper. RTX 2060 IS the budget/entry level to RTX so you have to include it as a budget option.

It's still not though. 1650 is coming out at the end of the month.

1650
1660
1660 Ti
2060
2070
2080
2080 Ti

Are you going by price or by lineup?

Price
350 is closer to 220-280 than it is to 550-600

Lineup
RTX 2060
RTX 2070
RTX 2080
RTX 2080Ti

So we have a price that correlates more towards the "budget" price you put up and the bottom of the lineup. It also falls in the natural breaks of the data for a budget price. That screams a budget product.

You're moving the goalposts now.

Never did.

I put all the data in that graph for that gen. All those prices are in there. You keep moving it with a new card.

I'll allow your constant entries into the conversation as they still fit into my argument.

You're insane if you don't see the pattern moving up. Just because it wasn't budget before doesn't mean it isn't now. We have a 2080ti that is now 1200 vs the 800 it was in the 1080ti. That is a 50% increase in price. You're crazy if you don't think the market has changed.

I'm looking at the thread right now. You've moved the goalposts to RTX only.

Because you keep interchanging entry level and budget. One is price and one is line up.

Only you didn't specify RTX in the original post.
The 2080 Ti vs 1080 Ti price difference is an exception and not the new norm. You said you built your first PC last year so you probably don't know that.
