IDK man, not a good price. HBM isn't paying off yet but believe it will in the future. Right now its just keeping cost elevated.

Yeah I was just reading that a bit ago, I love the bundle with Ryzen but was hoping for R5 instead of R7, still a great bundle though.

I will probably still go liquid cooled, hopefully I can get one ordered in the first batch or it'll probably be a month.

But at the same time idk, I've read a lot lately that the HBM2 prices and shortages are not bad anymore with everyone ramped up into production for months now, hell SK started in January and Samsung in May.

Also have to wonder just how many Apple received for use in the new iMac that will cut down on availability too.

Still haven't seen anything on release date/preorder date. Rumor still Aug 2nd to preorder but I've seen Aug 18th for launch day.

Will miners not try and scoop up all of these vega cards right on release/pre orders?

Nope AMD is only selling the top models in bundles as their way to specifically deter miners from buying them.

Whether or not that works we will see, but that is their plan.

Watched one video where it is said that AMD said that it will trade blows with the 1080...will win some, will lose some.

What I am most interested in seeing is something else that was brought up by AMD when discussing the 1080 vs Vega...That it will offer for the most part, higher average minimum (.1 and 1% lows) frame rates when compared to the 1080. Will seriously consider giving it a shot if it is comparable to the 1080 and offers a narrower gap between high and low frame rates.

Frame pacing is much more important for overall experience over higher avgs of lower frame rates.

Frame pacing has a lot to do with the CPU as well depending on the application.

Back in the day before we got IPCs up yes. Its mostly driver related now.

Well.. yeah? Its a new product.

Surprised its not number 1. The formula is something like Total Sales / Time on Market.

If it was the $799 one, or if that one was even on the list then sure.

However this is the 16 core $1,000 one, price matters for those things more than anything else that's why you see the lower end pricing of all other CPUs like the 7500.

So the fact that the most expensive TR offering hit that high in 1 day and the $799 one is nowhere to be seen is quite cool. Lot of early jumpers to the highest end option available in all its 16 core glory.

Flagship mobo and it's $550, sheeeeesh. That socket size still cracks me up every time though.

The 1900x intrigues me the most out of that lineup. Basically a beefed up 1800x, but with quad-channel DDR4 support and 64 PCIE lanes for $550.

Intel really should've did that with Kaby Lake-X rather than just slapping a 7700k onto a LGA2066 socket, and they should've also given the full PCIE lanes to their 6 and 8 core chips.
