Is it sad that IRL players shoot better than i do on a video game?

I shot even at Augusta last night (the one with ~300 plays and a 7ish rating).

Does Samsung still put a bunch of bloated software on there?

Yes. It's the worst. And since my phone is used for work, I don't root it.

Same here. My s4 has 10 updates a day it feels like, all for software I don't use.

You do know you can disable auto updates and disable apps you don't use without rooting.

I'm still basically brand new to Android, so I don't know what all can be done to the "non-Google" phones that don't run stock Android. Do you lose certain hardware functionality if you root and install an AOSP ROM? Is it even possible to root, or does each phone require its own hacks/workarounds to root? Based on what I know so far about custom ROMs, you basically have to sacrifice anything implemented by a third-party manufacturer with proprietary drivers. So with something like a Note 4, flashing another ROM might mean you lose some of its biggest discriminators like the S-Pen and fingerprint. Though I don't know how deep the widely-hated Samsung bloat goes. I just remember the 10 minutes I spent with my mom's Galaxy S5, and it was not a good first impression.

I'd like to know all this myself for future reference. I really like stock Android and how easy it is to root/mod/flash/etc. but don't necessarily want to be limited to Google's hardware specifications and manufacturer of choice like I was with iPhones.

I have begun hooking and slicing like crazy. Playing with a mouse and I think that's hurting me.

Playing with a mouse sucks. Controller makes everything 100x easier.

I just moved up to +1 handicap... Now I have to shoot one shot better than I normally do

Yeah I started with a mouse and my first five games gave me a handicap of over 20. Once I switched to controller my scores improved dramatically. Much easier to hit straight and judge power using the control stick.

Wired Xbox 360 controller is the simplest and probably cheapest option. I've been using a white GameStop branded one.

These are by far the best for the golf games. They make it almost impossible to mishit shots. I use one when I'm playing in my room and I shoot probably 5 shots better with it than my wireless Xbox controllers.

The Xbox controllers are better overall controllers IMO, though

Yeah, I just leave utorrent running. I actually have never been busted by my ISP for anything i've downloaded from IPTorrents, and I am seeding nearly 24/7 without a VPN. But I leave one Kickasstorrent seeding for a night accidentally, and I get the copyright notice from Cox the next morning.

Nice Eagle on Whistler's Shadow

I was even with you for a few holes then royally fricked things up with a few bogeys. Couldn't catch up after that. Finished at -2.

How hard would it be to run ethernet through the wall? I'm looking at literally running it to the opposite side of the wall

You could go ghetto like me and just poke a hole in the wall. My living room and bedroom share a wall, and I have ethernet cables, extended USB cable, and even a power extension cord all running through the wall to the other side of the room. At some point, I'll just stick this on both sides of the wall:

It would have to be clean. A hole would get me a divorce then if I'm single I might as well just run wires all over my house
