Yet you think throwing crediting an xbox is worth the meniscal amount of return if you would get if invested.
Investing $500 today is worth a lot. Really, you guys should look into how much better off you will be in retirement if you take opportunities like this today. Stop pretending what I'm saying doesn't make sense and look up what you can make $500 do for you. You won't find a financial advisor who tells you what I'm saying is stupid.
ETA: I guess the argument could be made that you could invest $35 more each month for two years, and that might be close to the same, but the $500 now is still the better plan.
ETA2: That completely ignores the fact that spending (or simply having) $500 is worth "more" than it will be in 2 years. In a world with inflation, $500 will buy you more things RIGHT NOW than it ever will again. Simply pushing a portion of that purchase down the road, with all other things being equal, is a savings of your wealth. Using those funds to make money is the best use of those funds.

If you are that casual of a gamer and don't care about ray tracing why would you go spend $300 on something with less power than a PS4 Pro and Xbox One X from a generation ago? They'd just stay on those.
A lot of people shop based on price.

I told you Series-S was a steal

If you’re a casual gamer I highly doubt you know anything about these consoles spec wise and ray tracing.
You got to think a lot of people out there really don’t study up on these consoles and what they’re actually getting. They just look at the price points.

It absolutely is.
You can't build a comparable gaming PC for anywhere close to $299.

It's amazing how many of you are bad with money.
I guess that is pretty typical for people who buy video games, but I thought it wouldn't be so extremely prevalent here.
I’m actually great with money
So much I don’t have to stress putting anything on finance other than my house or a car.
I can’t imagine having to finance a game console. I’ll own both anyway. Pay on my AMEX get points and pay AMEX off at end of the month like I do with a ton of stuff.
Financing big ticket items through the seller makes sense on like a 3 thousand dollar tv. When you do that to get money knocked off and then you pay the entire thing off the first month.

There is a difference between having money and being good with money. There is nothing stated in this thread that should make you believe purchasing a console outright would be a financial hardship for me.

Bragging about getting a $299 gaming system on 0% finance makes it look like this has been an issue for you.
There is literally no need to finance it unless it is out of your means.

I never once bragged about anything, and I'm not buying the Series S.

My stance is that adding $35 a month for 2 years should be a non-issue for anyone, and it is a better idea to use the $500 you intended to spend on something else.
The only reason I'm even having this discussion is because morons misunderstood my statement that All Access is a great deal to mean I need to finance the console, which makes no sense.

So are you planning on doing the $35/month or purchasing outright?

I'm doing the $35 and using the $500 for something else. Haven't decided what yet.
ETA: Assuming I get the 0% rate, obviously. Not worth it otherwise. In that case I'll buy it outright.

Why wouldn't you get the 0%?

How shite is your credit if you not confident on getting $499 on 0%
Unless you are a college kid this shouldn’t be an issue unless you made some bad choices in the past.

Couldn't tell you. I assume it's based on credit. I should absolutely qualify, but I don't know what they're looking for.

I agree. Should be no problem.
