Yes, yes it is still going on. I shipped off the faulty console with a pre-paid Fedex label they provided and thought that would be the end of it. The person they provided me to contact couldn't even do anything, he just "escalated" it to another team

I had disc drive issues too, and when I told Amazon about it the lady said "Oh yeah, that console was flagged for possibly having hardware issues."
So they knowingly sold me broken shite. I'm doing the exchange thing with Microsoft, hopefully it works.

Here is an update, I'm pretty sure the Kinect is broken. It was fine and working when I used it the other day but I turned it on this morning and it keeps reading as "unplugged" even though I have checked and reconnected a few times. What an odyssey this Xbone has been for me.
A little re-cap:
Nov. 22 - receive console that can't read disks
Nov. 22 - speak with Amazon people to see about replacement but they don't even have any to ship out as replacement. They tried to put in orders for replacement AND refund which I steadfastly refused (more on this later).
Nov 23 - speak with MS associates who informs me of advanced exchange where they put a temporary hold on CC and send out a new console to you. I use this option where you send the faulty one back in the box the new one is shipped through.
Nov 29 - receive new Xbone from MS and it works so I slap the pre-paid shipping label on the box they sent and send that sucker back to Spokane, WA.
Dec 13 - receive email from MS that no notification of shipment has been received by MS regarding the package I sent off two weeks ago. They inform me that they will begin process of charging card.
Dec 13 - haggle with MS people who are powerless to change anything even though I have proof it was shipped out so they escalate me to the "customer advocacy team"
Dec 20 - I didn't hear shite from the customer advocacy team so I hit up MS customer service again and they tell me the shipment was received on the 15th and that the hold will be removed. Too bad they didn't think to tell me any of that when it happened, that would have been convenient.
Dec 28 - receive email from Amazon that since I had not returned the Xbone for replacement and refund orders I will be charged 1100.
Dec 28 - haggling with powerless Amazon employees until a supervisor reads situation notes placed in my case file where I repeatedly refuse to accept replacement or refund orders in November, so the charges are removed and I receive a $20 gift card (lol).
Dec 30 - Kinect is busted and I will have to ring up MS to get a replacement out here and the process will begin again!

I'm going to make a screen play out of this and option it out as a horror flick. I'm thinking what to demand from MS this time, only games I don't have are Zoo Tycoon and Ryse.

Microsoft is deliberately doing this to you because you won't take their offer of Ryse for free. They have been deeply insulted.

Yeah, so that whole getting a Kinect shipped to me would be pretty simple. I just looked around in the box and they sent me a power supply and an HDMI cord, but they wrapped them up so I assumed it was a kinect. I'm about to post a picture for you guys, I assure you this is happening.
