The dynamics you get with the time passing and different lighting, along with the weather make for some truly awesome visuals.

Yep. There are some spots on that map that are truly breathtaking during sunrise/sunsets. It amazed me what they were able to do.

Played more tonight. I'm only level 3 and still haven't killed the griffin. Just doing side quests. I did the dweller contract with the noonwraith though. I'm starting to get a feel for this combat.

The combat gets so good once you find out what works for you. Each enemy has some different weaknesses, and it makes a world of difference if you take advantage of them. I didn't do much for magic besides leveling up igni to get out of some tight situations and some healing. Combat style I went for light and quick with high dex and stamina (if this is you, find all the cat school weapons & armor as soon as you can cause they are awesome). Just find what works best for you as early as you can and design your character around it. You can go wrong any direction you go, but you'll frustrate yourself more than anything if you get indecisive about it.

I've been leveling up the quick attack. I can kill some enemies just by hitting them fast. Are there any combos?

Yea, the quick attack was my go to as well. There aren't really any combos iirc (though its been quite a while since I've played. Mostly dodging and getting in critical attacks, building up adrenaline and then using special attacks.

What are the thoughts on dodging vs rolling. the souls in me says to keep rolling

Dodging is better in this game. It's like the bloodborne quick jumps. I did use both when I played it but I used the dodge way more. Esp fighting humans. Rolling would be better for the beasts.

Bingo. Rolling pauses stamina regen and uses some, dodging does not. Don't get me wrong, I rolled all the time with beasts, but dodging and parrying were very useful.

I used dodge way more. I would roll if overwhelmed or against the larger monsters.

Same here. Roll was used mostly to get out of the way of big charge attacks.

I would say though that it does depend on your play style and build. I leveled my quick attacks and igni so I would dodge/parry-->quick attack-->igni-->quick attack repeat, depending on the situation obviously and depending on the type of monster. But that was my basic strategy.

That was my strategy as well. I went full cat school. I'd occasionally throw heavy attack in if I had them stunned or got behind them, but mostly just dodge -> slash slash slash -> dodge -> igni or stun -> slash or power, etc...

Their armor looks the best too IMO.

The Mastercrafted Ursine armor is pretty sweet too.

I liked using Aard but I enjoyed shooting fire from my hands better.

I liked Arad on humans cause you got some pretty cool kill screens pretty regularly.

I'm bored. Might have to download Witcher again and fire it back up from the beginning.

Like others I upgraded my igni and quick attacks to max right away. It's also good to upgrade axii as it gives you options in conversations that don't require paying someone and also give you exp. I'm about halfway through and can count on one hand the potions I've used. I have a ton of decoctions but haven't had a need for them. Also have never used a bomb and hardly ever use my crossbow. Just all quick attack, igni, and some quen/axii mixed in. Probably need to up the difficulty lol

I'm about 65-70 hours in and am in novigrad on the bailing out dandelion quest I'm guessing that's about halfway through. Have knocked out every single questions mark up to this point which took awhile and in turn got up to level 17 which is way above the suggested level so I've been breezing through the main story

I haven't played gwent at all. Cant get all the cards anymore because I didn't play the baron

Still rolling with the griffin armor and weapons. Taking my time with an upgrade right now since I don't really need it. Really cool how the runestones make your sword light up

The card you get from him is in his office if you missed it

Isn't this only if you chose a certain outcome in his storyline? Definitely could be wrong.

No idea. I just know they made sure that you can still get his card. There are still definitely some missable ones.
