Has anyone tried straight up mage?
This seems like a pretty tough way to start since it is much harder to gather spells.
I always want to play a mage but never do because they are such a pain, but it sure seems like nailing those dragons in the sky would be easier and of course mages are usually overpowered at the end of a game if they survive that long.

I asked before...what the heck were the beta testers up to?
Just the few of us on here have encountered bug after bug just in the first few hours of the game.
That 11-11-11 fancy date was a mistake and pretty pointless.

I'm on my third horse and what's going on with them attacking everything including dragons

Why does turning pelts into leather INCREASE your carry weight?

I think you might be doing it wrong. I don't know how it works on PC, but on 360 you use left-trigger to equip to left hand and right-trigger to equip to right hand.

Do I need to play the prequels to understand/appreciate this game?
All the gameplay videos and reviews have me wanting to buy it

No you don't. Each game stands alone.

Na. But the game is OVERWHELMING.
It can be a bit harsh for people who have never played a gigantic open play game before.
Heck, I've played 3 Elder Scrolls games and I still get overwhelmed at the start.

This is single player but having played WoW won't hurt.

Yeah, I've played several elder scrolls and all the fallouts. I love these types of games.
Skyrim is STILL blowing my mind. I'm level 17 and I JUST got done with the greybeards. Being way too OCD and thorough with quests sucks
the only one I didn't do immediately was the companions...and I'm doing them now.

I am the same way, but my fear with radiant quests is that you could stay in one area forever.

Why rush through a game?
Posted on 11/12/11 at 1:04 pm to DoUrden
Yeah, it can suck at times. I'll get so pulled into stuff that I'll forget exactly what's going on in the main quest. I used to be the exact opposite, then I'd finish the game and feel like I missed out on a ton. That, or I'd be so low leveled and ill equipped that I couldn't continue without doing side quests.

I'm a bit of a completionist. I like to do all the quests and sometimes leaving one area closes off quests.
This game saddles you down with lots of quests pretty quickly and they quickly take you all over the dam place.
Heck, first damn building I go to in Riverrun, I get sent off on a damn quest that had me going all over the place before I could even explore the first darn tiny settlement.
