However you rationalize it
The fact that you can play on master and slaughter enemies is an indicator that you may have broken the system just a little bit

I'm about to up my difficulty. I'm don't even have all the shite you guys have and I'm hacking through average people no problem. Big time mages only take a little longer.

I've definitely moved up to expert difficulty, but I am still getting whooped up on by high level enemies.

I just don't know if poor Lydia can hang though. My healing hands have been needed more than once.

Outfit her with Daedrick armor and weapons.

quote:Not really. It is an indicator that they once again didn't make the game difficulty work correctly. Not the first time. With morrowind you could go from game start to invincible in a few minutes.

There are some simple fixes.
As I said, they should limit the total health, magic, and stamina regeneration as well as limiting magic resistance totals.
I just switched to Thief mode so things should get tougher with lower skills.

What I think they'll do is eliminate stacking effects for just about everything. In Oblivion, it was possible to have 5 pieces of 20% camouflage to make you completely invisible. In Morrowind it was possible to have ridiculous constant effect jewelry that would make you a god. They are slowly removing things that are OP in each iteration, such as the levitate spell which allowed you to attack something and then float away and shoot them to death or the pole-arms which were kind of ridiculous with the attack range.

Also enchant the stuff you give your companion

I'm working on my building my enchantment a bit right now. That's my next step. This Malkarth house is pretty nice.

I miss levitation. They simply should have made it impossible to attack while floating in the air.
Even though they removed the number of pieces you can enchant, you get higher level enchants in this game.
Plus in Morrowind and Oblivion, enchanting something with more than one enchant lowered the other enchant.
In this game, you put the same amount of enchant whether you use one or two.
I just made some thief gear and I can put 45% sneak and 45% pickpocket on one piece. So with just two items enchanted, I get +90% sneak and +90 pickpocket.
That is simply too much.
I think the 11-11-11 date caused them to rush things and I think tweaking difficulty probably wasn't even touched by the developers.
Master difficulty should be hard or damn near impossible. It really isn't.

I've been shedding some weapons and armor that I've accumulated. I'm about halfway through and ive already made 30k, plus I've bought the whiterun mage and alchemist outta regs and soul stones.

I find that buying soul gems (filled) from my wife and then selling the excess gear is a good way to make money and get rid of junk.

"Pieces of the Past" is a good quest for hearts and loot.
Not to mention Mehrunes' Razor (small chance to instantly kill.)

Yea that's the one, dude started with the high ground too which sucked because it's hard to hit someone with a bow from below them AND he had a fricking pet giant frostbite spider.
