Figured it out. It started working immediately after my character respawned.
Edit - Also, one more question - what are the coins used for? I get a notification every now and then telling me I gained more coins. Do we spend these on something...?

yea on shops and weapon repair that were in the old world. I need to add some to this world

I went to the ones I've seen on the map. Not all of the map reflects the real world that's there.

Pectus, cosmo, and louis. Thanks for letting me in the batcave. Just got started on my room. Unfortunately I will be offline for next three weeks in middle of a move to br from htown. May get on during weekends if I am lucky. Nice job stout on new world.

Woohoo! I was able to get my old pc to boot up last nite so I will be able to play during the week. I will be looking for diamonds, so shiny.

Just for PC. If you don't have it for PC, I HIGHLY recommend getting it. It's totally worth it.

I'm impressed with what Illusion has done. Granted, I haven't ventured up north yet, but that tower and sphere thing is pretty sweet.

Anybody know anything about trading emeralds with villagers? What are the available options? Is it random?
