Indeed. Reminds me of the black Scotsman from Tf2
I just realized the beta closes May 9th and no one can play again until May 24th

Games is fun as hell, but I can't see it being a long term game and certainly not worth the 40 dollars....on the fence for sure.
yea it's really fun but there's just not much game for the price. I'm gonna pick it up when it goes on sale at some point
seems battleborn has more gameplay and longevity to it, probably more worth the $60

My gut is telling me that Battleborn is coming out at a rough time and won't have a big community. I would be hesitant to buy in at $60 to Battleborn. I didn't like that game though so maybe it will be worth it for you.

Everyone who pre-ordered early got two beta codes, so maybe you can bum one off of someone. My second one is already burned FWIW

Tried battleborn and overwatch, didn't care for either. Much prefer my pvzgw2

I was under the impression they would be adding features. Maybe I'm wrong.
I'll gladly pay $40 for hundreds of hours of fun either way.

They have said more heroes and maps are coming (see the Polygon article I linked a page back). Ranked gameplay was taken for a re-work. HotS has just revealed their new ranked system so Overwatch could have theirs back in by release if they are built on the same principles (maybe).
They also have what is effectively a rotating game mode. I would like to see a campaign, but overall the game has about as many features as any online multiplayer game. Most of those are f2p, but I would rather plop $40 down for all the character than have to micro-transaction this stuff.

man I get that you don't like it
but objectively speaking battleborn has been released with more content for the same price, more heroes and it has a campaign. it's playstyle is also unique to consoles and somewhat unique to pc gaming. plus battleborn has the chance to be a pretty big esport with its MOBA elements.
overwatch is a fun FPS. lots of fun fps on console and pc. I'd rather play it on console and it's just not worth $60. should be about $25 or $30 on pc and console.

There's about a 100% chance that Overwatch's eSports scene is bigger than Battleborn's in 1.5 years.
I'm not sure that praising Battleborn for having more content when that content isn't good (and most of the press has been lukewarm at best on the game, so it isn't just me) is something to be proud of.

could I get the winning lottery numbers while you're here?
only time will tell if either has success as an esport
eta the MOBA elements of battleborn lend itself more to having success as an esport. seems like there's more strategy involved. I don't see the precision needed as a fps in overwatch to be successful as an esport like counter strike has.

ok, that's like you're opinion man.
more content is more content objectively speaking. for $60 more content is needed than what it's currently offering now or in the future (yes more heroes and maps in the future doesn't make it worth $60 as an all multiplayer fps). as it stands it's basically just titanfall. also you conveniently skipped over the part of battleborn having a unique playstyle.

Ok the playstyle thing falls in the same vein as the content thing. Look if you like Battleborn more then go for it, I'm just saying the writing on the wall is not great for Battleborn.

after watching vids of both, battleborn just seems like a low-rent overwatch. i heard the humor in it is awful, too. from the outside, i'd imagine that overwatch has more staying power

make a Battleborn thread bro

As someone who was not expecting much from this game, I've had a BLAST playing the Open Beta.
The only game I typically have the time or will to play is HotS ... but Overwatch looks promising long term. I love crafting a good and unique team comp for specific maps / objectives. I also really like the UI. Hopefully they will integrate a ranked system similar to HotS / SC II.
Keep in mind it is a beta and Blizzard will continually be updating and improving that game.

I mentioned this briefly earlier, but Overwath used to have competitive/ranked. It had some of the same issues as HotS and got pulled a while back. HotS just unveiled their new system today, so Overwatch could have it back by release.

Yeah I mean if Battleborn ends up rocking then good luck with it. I just think Blizzard is doing their patented marketing strategy to crush that game. They have a history of just overshadowing and crushing competitors by releasing something at the same time (see most MMO's and WOW expansion packs). Overwatch has hosted a beta weekend like everyone time Battleborn does and they are releasing right on top of one another.

I really enjoy playing overwatch and hope that doesn't change. And I'm definitely gonna buy it at some point, just not till it gets to a better price point on console. also I'll be surprised if it goes the way of titanfall since blizzard is behind it.
but I doubt I buy battleborn or overwatch any time soon. too many other games vying for my time. I was just giving an outsiders perspective on both games.

I plan on playing all weekend to see how it holds up. I find new FPS games to be very fun at first and then you hit somewhat of a brick wall and don't feel like playing much anymore. Probably just my preference though - I tend to gravitate towards games that have character building aspects.
