i could never figure out his phase 1 combos.

there's a very distinct rhythm to his moves and he doesn't audible out of them like later bosses do. if he does that drag, the timing will be the same to deflect the swipe every time. that combo he does with the roll in the middle is probably the toughest to pick up on, but once you get it it's like riding a bike

Second Ape encounter was much easier. Phase one I didnt rez and barely healed.

Second phase when his mate shows up is complete horseshite. Just luck of draw as to whether she interrupts you when you attack him. Finished him with a sliver of JP and no rez.

Cleared all miniboss before Owl and have 8 necklaces. Only attempted him once. I got shite to do today, but he seems rough.

Samsies, well, still have the shortcut miniboss to deal with first.

Debating on going back and tackling all the big spooky dudes, but im worried about my confettit reserves and dont know what kind of areas are after the current progression Boss.

Really I managed to beat him my second attempt and I accidentally walked into the battle with only 5 flasks

I really don’t know how I did it in retrospect

Which owl? There are 2. Both are difficult, on is significantly more difficult than the other.

Got him. Got through P1 with 8 Gourds left. Ended with none, no rex, and a sliver of HP.

P1 I kept aggressive. P2 I tightened up and ended up justbwhittling him down.

Tough fight!

great fight. when i beat him, it's like he beat my arse for 15 straight times, then it all made sense and i smoked him.

i barely moved. i stood still in the middle of the room and let him dictate the pace, deflecting each hit and and dodging only when necessary. baiting that delayeD overhead slam and mikiris are crucial

phase 2 is actually easier once he starts using the flaming owl attack. just sprint and jump to a side to dodge it, then mikiri his charge move

Only thing that consistently fricked me up was his one two punch followed by firecrackers. I always froze up and took damage on that bullshite.

ETA: Demon is working me. Ugh. The demon isn’t even the boss. It’s the goddamn camera. From had to get cute and include this dark souls boss in here.

got phase 1 down, but im either getting poisoned or combo'd after the smoke bomb. cant figure out where to dodge after that one. i run away and he chases me down before i can lock on. guessing i should stand my ground into a block? prob took 20 tries to get phase 1 memorized, and i still slip up and get whacked in 2 or 3 hits.

Carson any tips for Demon of Hatred? I can basically get thru the first phase most time no damage. Second phase I typically have to ressurect because of his absurd range.

It's just such a long fight and I'm trying to stay aggressive but I don't have the fire umbrella which I feel would really help

you're in luck, I have a save right before him. Let me see if I can throw together a video real quick.

ETA: Here you go

for all phases, constantly be under him and sprinting to your right to avoid the majority of his attacks. if he dashes away and winds up for the slam with his big arm, sprint towards him and slightly to your left for some free shots. any time he does the big jump attack, just sprint away for a bit, jump, then grapple to him. the camera is your absolute worst enemy in this fight

his most dangerous attack is the perilous charge where you have super little time to react. always jump to the left and he'll never touch you

for the 2nd phase, when he does the big perilous smash with the flame trail, just sprint left and jump, then you can grapple to him. he'll combo the perilous attacks, you react quickly

3rd phase, you can skip the ring of fire if you sprint away quick enough. makes it a little less stressful.

his perilous charge is an absolute bullshite attack. if you're in the middle of a swing, you can't jump in time. so be careful not to just R1 spam and you'll avoid it just fine

Just beat the demon. You have to use the fire shield. Makes it so much easier

I beat him in 7.5min on NG+

What’d you do, just tank everything with shield and then hit him after the slow attacks?
