TL knows if they beat 100T, they get to worlds no matter what happens in the finals. They matchup with 100T better too. Think they are 6-1 all time

Riot's reply:

quote:

This is only partly accurate. The English language casting team will be in LA from playin thru semifinals, and will then be onsite for the Worlds Final, with be exception of Ovilee and Sjokz who will rotate onsite for the entire run for interviews.

This is a pretty familiar model both in traditional sports broadcasts and even for some of the coverage we’ve done in the past. It’s a model many of our non-English broadcasts have used during worlds for the past few years.

While there are many cost and efficiency advantages to using an already decked out local studio, there are admittedly some challenges for the casting team. However, the team we’re using is highly professional and we expect them to deliver at a very high level.

Are they just not going to have crowd noise?

I believe they will, someone mentioned not having crowd noise would effect the casters hype level and what not and Deficio said this:

quote:

Writing again as I deleted by mistake:

Edit: Fully understand where everyone's opinions are coming from. I am not trying to defend the decision as I would love to be in Korea for all of Worlds and this is by no means an upgrade, I'm just trying to address the comment regarding casters hype being way worse.

Casting in a venue is a lot harder for me due to new setups. I actually try my best to ignore the crowd as you focus on the screen so much as a colour caster. The crowd noise will be fed to the casters in our headsets so I can still adjust to their level and get hyped with them. From my experience then the viewing experience in terms of casters hype will not be very different (if it is, let us know!) due to the casting location, but everyone is welcome to have different opinions here.

Editv2: this is just my experience as a colour caster, it could be different for others. Will it be harder (especially with timezones)? Yes, but we are all good enough to work around that.

I imagine it would be sent to the stream as well.

Invictus Gaming is 18-1 in the LPL this split, dayum. RNG is tied for 2nd at 13-5 in that group.

Rogue Warriors lead the other group at 14-4.

Team WE is last place 4-13, what a fall. Looks like the same roster too.

LMS playoffs are starting, Flash Wolves went 14-0 in the split and have a bye to the finals. A similar fall story in that League as well, AHQ last place at 3-11 with mostly the same roster.

I think it's because this lineup is a package, Goldenglue and Sven.

Great draft from C9 sends us to a game 5!

GG, that has to feel good for Brother Sven.

TSM with one of the worst macro games you'll ever see for a semifinal, holy frick.

For sure, that lineup is really good. Stomped TL and then 2 convincing wins over TSM.

Like the skt style from a few years ago. Control and macro team, and aggressive playmaking team. Swap them in and out as needed.

TL 3-1 over 100T, rather easily after game 1.

Team Liquid has qualified for Worlds.

If c9 beats liquid in the finals it should be pretty interesting to see who wins in the gauntlet

TSM EF or 100t
