I think I'm going to roll a melee/strength build for my second playthrough. Just rushing a deathclaw in the glowing sea sounds like fun.

I've found that having really good armor is a must for a melee build.

And when will this begin?

After official mod support launches at the earliest

Any timeline on that? I'm guessing they are waiting because the console mod support isn't read.

Heck, I forgot how weak we are when we start out. I already dropped back to normal because I couldn't kill anything.

I've had that realization on my new game too. Got pwned by Super Mutants and even Ghouls hurt

the combat has gotten better for me after that intro when I was so underleveled. It didn't help that this is my first fallout so I didn't have a good feel for when to shoot and when to use VATS.

Heck, plain old raiders were just about one shot killing me.

Endurance really didn't matter on normal so I have just about none this time. Started with Luck 10 which chewed up my points. So my overall health sucks.

Also haven't had luck with finding decent weapons.

Yeah, going from an invincible wasteland hero to "fresh out of the vault still frosty behind the ears" is a humbling experience, but this time I'll know a lot more about what I'm doing.

Also, I don't know how many times I've been around sanctuary looking for scrap/loot and this is the first time I've ever found the root cellar.

I'm building better settlements but I forgot how long it took before I could really upgrade and help out.

Only have 3 at the moment and they aren't well defended. I just happened to show up for 8 super mutants to attack 2 settlers and 1 provisioner.

Barely survived and really only survived because Codsworth distracted them.

Seems like my key mistake was having super low endurance. I probably started with 5 or 6 last time and this time I started with 1, so I can't take much damage. I'm going to need to spend my points on Endurance because I currently have two settlements that require Super Mutant Battles to open them up and I can't even get close without missiles blowing me 100 feet into the sky.

And that is on normal... very hard difficulty, I might just die from an ingrown toenail.

Yeah, I've been on super hard, almost got obliterated by the first Deathclaw. Pretty sure I used almost all of my stimpaks on it.

my fighting strategy is to shoot and run, even raiders

Here is a protip for everyone restarting

Bind purified water to your quick menu. Only use stimpaks for broken limbs.

Just made it to Corvega, at level 7 on very hard, getting my arse handed to me every step of the way

I like how a pipe pistol in a raider's hands is a precision tuned instrument of death. However, in my hands its like a pop gun.

That wasn't a glitch. You linked all settlements directly to Sanctuary thus you could have 30+ provisioners there at one time.

By linking, do you mean setting supply lines? I ask because I still feel inexperienced in that aspect as I've focused more on building than anything else.

Yes.

It is best to link in a long chain.

A to B then B to C then C to D then D to E and so on.

One long continuous chain.

I didn't do that. I sent like half of Sanctuary out to link other settlements and I sent some from other settlements to sanctuary.

So there were always tons of provsioners all over the place. Also if you make a mess of things like I did, then you don't have enough settlers in the settlement to do all the work.

If you do the continuous chain, there will be one in going back and forth from each link of the chain.

***SPOILERS*** Maybe

At the Battle of Bunker Hill, i can't seem to get in the front door. I am not sure if everyone else has this problem but the BoS shows up also and it is a free for all between the Synths, Railroad, and BoS? Should I warn railroad or BoS before hand, like the options are? I am still not sure which faction i like, I kinda hate them all but the minutemen.

Should I just let them fight it out or what? I waited a few minutes and killed the synths one time, but still could not get in. Another time I just let them all fight it out and I was just gonna go in while they were fighting, but could not. This happen to anyone else? Is it supposed to happen? I tried to google, but most sites are blocked at work.
TIA
