You need to drop some weapons stores in you main settlements, then sell junk weapons and ammo for caps and buy the ammo you need. Easy peasy.

Late responding but thanks for the info... I am already scrapping everything out of habit from wanting to find rare stuff. Literally looking in every single thing in a building or area.
I have yet to assign workers, this info will proove most useful going forward. I only play a few hours a week so it is tough going ATM
thanks again

Found a Freezing Fat Man while doing the Med Tech Mission. Didn't have room for it but was going to come back, after the mission, and pick it up. Every other ghoul I killed was there except the one with the Freezing Fat Man.

frick, I'd go on a twelve state killing spree. Losing three hours of gameplay due to a bug almost cost me an xbox one console, several times, but I guess it could be worse.

Question about weapons in settlements..
Do you need to leave them out on shelves for your settlers to pick them up, or can I leave a trunk with stored weapons?
In my Sanctuary Hills settlement I have an armament room with 3 suits of power armor, 3 miniguns, and random weapons.. all of the weapons are on shelves but it's hard to put them there.

I give them the weapons & ammo.
It won't do them any good if they don't have ammo too.
If you leave ammo and weapons, then the first person probably takes all of the ammo, thus the remaining weapons are useless to the settlers.
Not sure how well the picking things up on their own dynamic works.

I decided to store all my aid items that I don't use and it's amazing how much more room I suddenly have

I always did that. I basically just rolled with stimpacks and radaway.
If I hit a store on the way home, I would sell them, if not I would put them in the workshop.
I probably have an insane amount of high priced merchandise in my workshop since I never really used any of the aid items and I used them Chem Station to upgrade or make tons of aid items for the XP.

Welp, I'll give Bethesda credit, I didn't have a game breaking bug until attempting to start my 2nd play through. But now it seems to be stuck.
My character just freezes right after stepping out of chryostasis. The environment is still moving, sounds effects still happening, but I'm just stuck. Tried 5 times last night with the same result. Sucks! I wanted to do a no VATS playthrough.
How long until Dark Souls?

Happened to me too. Do a hard reset and try again. It usually works

Surprised I've never done that. I keep all of that shite on me and wonder why I constantly run out of space
I never use chems. I just make the specialty ones en masse whenever I can and sell them off for tons of caps.

So you mean your game is freezing up as you step out of the cryotube and you are throwing a fit and giving up? There is what, 15 minutes of gameplay prior to this point in the game? I guess you lose your character design, but look at is as a new fresh look.

It's a known bug, it happened at the start of my 2nd play also.

Well, it's not like I'm giving up on it early considering I've already beat the game and built out most of my settlements.
So yea, after 80+ hours playing already, I may "give up" if the hard restart doesn't fix it.

One time Strong was attacked by a bug... poisoned him. He was floating around and talking strange for a while... figured it was the bugs... this went on for hours. I thought it was permanent... after taking a few days off and coming back it went away. Had to be a glitch or bug.
I notice glitches all the time... but play rarely.

Only one I've noticed so far that's very noticable is the Brahmin on top of the house in Sanctuary Hills. Just keeps mooing.
