Also, how do you unlock the workshop in Spectacle Island?

You have to activate the power to the breaker switch in the workshop camper.

Follow the power line thru the middle of the island. You have to flip a couple of switches and follow the line until it reaches a partially submerged boat. In the boat there is generator that needs to be started.

Beware though, each step of the process generates a mini boss fight with some mirelurks including a mirelurk queen.

Baker was the baw on top the church in Quincy with the missile launcher and Fatman.

If you try to return the kid in the fridge and don't kill bullet and haven't cleared quincy, that quest is A LOT tougher. You can avoid the center of quincy, but will still get ambushed.

I did get my first plasma rifle off one of bullets goons so it was worth.

sleep before building. you get extra XP

scrap everything you find. houses, bathtubs, maple trees. everything. you will need these materials.

Assign settlers to tasks. Tasks:

Guards
Farmer
Scavenger
Shopkeep
Provisoner

in workshop mode, click on the settle, click assign, then point on the resource , and click again.

Guards require guardposts
farmers require crops
scavengers require a scavenge station
shopkeeps require shops (late game)
Provisoners require 2 settlements and a supply line (mid game, need 6 charisma and local leader perk)

It gets wayyyyyyyyy more in depth and pretty addictive later on, but, these are some basics.

Remember this one fact.

Everything, yes even that pencil, is useful.

Even some of the items for drugs I don't use, those are still useful because you get XP for making them.

I bet half of my leveling was from cooking everything, making chems, and settlement building.

Watch out when cooking. DON'T make cakes. Oil is too damn precious.

Yeah. Oil is so precious.

I recently discovered "cutting fluid" from the cooking station that makes 5 oil. The vegetable starch of oil, pretty much.

Also Brahmin feed troughs produce fertilizer which can make Jet to sell or craft with.

Yeah, bone collecting is a must. Any super mutant hideout, usually has some bones. Pick them all up for Cutting Oil.

For vegetable starch, tato and corn is super important so as I said earlier. Plant those in abundance ASAP. I've got 1 farm with like 100 tato. Warrick Estates or whatever it is named.

Did not know this. I have troughs to keep those things out of the way. Otherwise they end up on top of homes or blocking doors all the time.

So I found something special I havent heard of yet.

I found it on a random rooftop bar that was hence bloodied with the bodies of raider I done blowed up.

In the random bar on this random rooftop, on a random shelf was a tiny blue object called an X-Cell. It ended up being a drug that boost all of your special by +2.

I have not seen or heard of it since and I am saving it for the eventual boss fight with Satan in full power armor I assume they are including in this game.

Anyone else find a drug like this?

Any idea what would be causing me to have dozens of Provisioners and pack brahmin in a settlement? There was so many last night my system was lagging some. I'm sure it's some type of bug.

It's a super rare item, as rare as bobble heads. It can actually appear randomly at a couple vendors too.

You can find 2 of them upstairs in one of the Concord buildings at the beginning of the game as well.

I'm going to assume you were sloppy with your trade route setup like me.

I sent lots of people to or from Sanctuary.

Trade route setup is best if done A to B...B to C...C to D and so on.

I sent a bunch of folks from Sanctuary to other settlements then several settlements to Sanctuary. Thus you can have a big pile of provisioners at the same point at the same time.

Day tripper and Daddy-o are also two rare as frick chems I have found maybe 1 or 2 of in 5 days of playtime.

Another one od the rarest items in the game appears to be some goggles that give +1 int. Only spawn from 1 place

Also there are "robot models" of eyebot, protectron, sentry bot etc that are super duper rare. I only have the eyebot. They look like bobble heads but are just small robot models. Use these to decorate your trophy room
