For information in general. I used to use IGN but have started using Kotaku more and more lately.

No he said that he has with Microsoft and how he admires them. He states this a lot. It is no news.
He only brought it up because he was about to say they were arrogant this time. So he opened with that to soften the blow.

Because has been mismanaging their dev teams and the efforts to remake XIV has taken up a lot of manpower.

And to this point, there was an article in Gameinformer a while back with a bunch of Japanese developers saying that the gaming market over there is really stale and no one is doing anything all that interesting. Things need to change.
So I think a lot of people can "hate" on them.

That Keiji Inafune. He said this because he doesn't care about anybody and that Japan has moved a lot of its development to handhelds rather than consoles. There's not as many big console games anymore coming from Japan, and the high development costs are a prime reason. You do have developers get around it but just making great games and not focusing on graphics.
