Altho dat loot woulda been godlike.

The arena leash mechanic is nice for when things go south quickly at least...

Dang it I just did Morrigan's thing and I made some different choices along the way and because of them I didn't get to fight a certain battle.

Here is the bow I made last night, Didn't have anything good for the master piece, I have seen this bow made where it's 208 DPS.

Maybe grinding was the wrong word. Let's go with "wasting time:

Since so many asked, I'm on normal. I chose a Mage, which I think I regret (I heard that one of the spec classes was OP and I decided that would be my best bet as a noob to the series). Most battles I just stand back and hold the trigger, occasionally using abilities. It's kind of lame. And I haven't felt CHALLENGED yet, it's just that enemies take forever to kill. Like 15+ seconds per enemy with 4-6 enemies in every mob, and a mob every 50 feet on a 50 Sq mile area of map. Makes for TONs of time wasting IMO.

I'm about to pick it up again, we'll see how it goes.

Was it? I bought the box and did the war map mission for it but never really looked into it past that.
You have to go back to the store and there will be a golden statue there.

Well its a rpg. The game gives you a sense of getting stronger as you level up.

If you just steamrolled through everything at lvl 5 it wouldn't be fun or give any sense of achievement for completing things

Actually mage is the easy way to go. Learning how to play is much easier sitting back and throwing barrier up on the tanks then hitting with your damage spells.

I started with a dual wield rogue and that is much harder because you misclick and miss hitting a lot.

Almost immediately switched a mage.

This play through I am back to dual wield rogue but most of the time I roll as Solas.

Can you imagine if you could grind levels off mobs? Fallow Mire, especially the one spot (you know the one) would get you to 30 in about 5 minutes .

Nope. In case you haven't noticed, once you reach a certain level, certain mobs don't give any XP.

In fact, at certain levels, even somewhat hard mobs give little or no XP.

I cleared the gate over the weekend around lvl 10-12 and got zilch even though it was hard to kill all those zombies.

Couldn't seal the deal with Josephine. She just wanted to make out in the garden. Damn tease. Got her family all restored to prominence and still nothin.

This time around Cassandra was game which was awkward because she is tall and I am an ugly dwarf.

I sealed the deal. You have to go fight for her honor after she is betrothed to another!

Typical woman. I avoided violence and I guess she friend zoned me after that.

Had to reload on Cassandra because I made the wrong conversation choice and BOOM quest ended.

As you progress the story line it opens up more, I romanced her, but know the "romance" scenes are not Mass Effect type, they are disappointing.

Ok, So Josephine doesn't get freaky like Cassandra. I just looked it up and I got as far as I could with Josey.

How are archers in this one? I know in DA:O Archery was by far the weakest offensive skillset to go for. I like being the archery/stealthy/rogue type in games, is it still pretty weak in this version?

It's funny how much Archery sucked in regular Origins then in the expansion to Origins archery was completely overpowered for both warriors and rogues.

Seems like archery is pretty powerful with the right specs though based on what DoUrden has been posting in this thread and what others I've read elsewhere have said. I plan on doing an archery character next playthrough after I finish my initial knight enchanter mage playthrough right now.
