There are much bigger, deeper problems than that.
The entire loot system is a joke. Character trees are vanilla and boring. Item attributes are uninspiring and unrewarding.
About the only thing that I really like about D3 compared to D2 is that the difficulty has been ramped up significantly. I actually enjoy having to try hard to kill elite packs in act 3/4 inferno.

My 50% block, 1100 all res, 60k life, 80% dr, 1400 loh barb doesn't mind it :)

Have you beat Ghom yet? I just got to him last night and I have tried literally 10 different builds. I got him down to only 1/4 of his life once and the poison got me. My stats are what I would consider pretty good. 56-62 dps depending on the build 34k life and 350+ resists.
