I still have yet to play the DLC. I screwed around for so long b/c I didn't feel like figuring out how to access it. By the time I decided to just look it up to play it, DS2 was coming out. I'll get to it one day. Now the fam is back and I'm off vacation, so it will probably be a good 6 months before I have time to chip away at finishing DS2.

The dlc is sweet. Basically darkroot garden and basin..but in the past.

can see what lordran was like before shite went down. Really well done.

fricking love the DLC; the best I've ever spent money on. The environments, bosses, and lore are just exquisite. The bosses in the DLC makes DS2's bosses look like a joke. There's no nuance and beauty to them in DS2; I miss that the most.

Reading the description of artorias soul...

apparently he didnt stop the abyss...just succumbed to it. The chosen undead stopped it

I agree with you...so far its amazing. Got 1 shot by kalameet. Went the other way. Battling these red eye fricks in old new londo ruins ... I guess? Love the vibe here

Yeah, the area passed that guy goes to Chasm of the Abyss. You can fight Manus before Kalameet, if you want. Kalameet is completely optional, but you can get a pretty great weapon if you cut off his tail.

Just FYI, make sure you help a certain wolf while in the chasm and you can summon him for Manus.

Gough is a badass.

If you fight Sif after the DLC you get a different cutscene before the boss fight: LINK

Thats awesome.

Decided to be a sunbro and dropped my summon sign in front of artorias because I saw a 'need soldier' message.

He summoned me. We won. Too much fun

I used the gold-hemmed set, so that I could fast roll and get out of dodge during his aerial magic AoE attack. Try using Power Within and two-handing a weapon and dodge. My weapon of choice against him was the Great Scythe.

First time I played the DLC was on NG++, and I could simply never beat him. Crazy amount of HP and defense against everything.

Don't forget to summon baby sif for the great father of the abyss sir Every boss is cake with an Artorias greatshield by the way. It's like easy mode

Kalameet is a boss you want to get right up on. With the great shield of artorias his attacks do nothing at all. Just watch your stamina. I beat Kalameet and Manus my first try.. Artorias tore me a new one. Over and over. I still have nightmares . But I eventually did it.

I made a very poor choice and used sifs soul for a greatsword (useless).

Watchin these youtube pros 2hand and fast roll the kalameet fight is quite humbling
