The Lotharic Knight under the Tower bonifre
Never ending stamina bar and a wicked shield backhand. But he stuns pretty easy and fire does good damage to him.
The worshiper that turns into the giant snake head thing by the longbow is what wrecked my shite until i cheezed him with firebombs from distance.
I shot the dragon with 91 arrows and didn't take half his health bar.
I let my kid pick my character, and the knight is pretty damn strong early on. I've put points in dex to use the Uchi, but need one more in vigor to got under the 70% equip load. And my couple of encounters with the Lotharic knight yielded only a Lotharic helmet.

Picked it up yesterday and couldn't put it down till 3am. Damn game has got me already. Couple of thoughts and questions:
Made my way kind of deep into the Undead Settlement. Playing as a knight and using a broadsword I picked up, still haven't upgraded it yet.
When infusing weapons, do you have to keep picking up gems to infuse weapons or that one gem you find will allow you to infuse any weapon with that gem type?
I haven't died fighting any of the bosses so far. The camera is bad for few of them, I get stuck under the boss and can't see anything at all. Just have to hold my shield up and hope for the best.
The game is definitely more fast pace (feels more fluid) than previous Souls games. I'm assuming this is the Bloodborne similarity everyone is talking about.
Lastly, when picking up the game the guy checking me out was telling me how they already had a patch out that made the first boss way more difficult and to be prepared for that. I beat the guy that you take the sword out of pretty easily. Not sure what he was talking about, anybody know anything about this?

I think infusion is like with DS2. You upgrade the weapon through its natural upgrade path (titanite, or twinkling), and then you just infuse it once with Andre, as long as you have the appropriate gem, and he has received the appropriate coal (previously it was ember).

The gem is spent

I guess these will be common to come by eventually then.
I went from DS1 to DS2 then Demons Souls is the last I played so I keep getting the upgrading mixed up.
So if you infused a weapon with a raw gem, all that does is up the base stats of the weapon and removes scaling, right? And then from there you can proceed to reinforce to +1 and up Raw weapon correct?
Posted on 4/14/16 at 10:53 am to JustForThisThread
That is my understanding. You can later remove an imbue from a weapon so keep that in mind.

This is correct. IT's actually a good idea to do early game, because you get the huge base damage increase and can still reinforce with titanite. Also later on, you can swap the infusion with another one without losing the titanite reinforcement you have invested.

See, that's my thinking with Astora straight sword. It requires faith to wield, but doesn't scale off of it at all. And it has shitty Str and dex scaling. Seems like it was designed to be infused with raw to get really good base damage early on in the game.

The Lotharic Knight under the Tower bonifre
Went home at lunch to fight this guy again a fwe times. Just realized that if I use the katana with the thrusting R2 attack while he's running towards me that it gets him everytime and I can land followups. I can take him down more often than not now. Perfect, so I can now farm a bit, starting at the high wall main bonfire, kill everything heading to the tower bonfire, and taking him out, travel back to the main fire, repeat. It gets me about 2000 souls each run. So now I can get prob 10 levels out of this when I get home from work today.
(The dragon also helps me farm killing those 10 or so guys in that path)

go fight the one with the blue eyes next to the church. he's actually pretty tough, i beat him on my first attempt using the Uchi's weapon art. Did that wide parry and made him a little bitch. 3 ripostes and that was it for him
switched to Longsword +3. killed the cursed tree and made it to the 2nd bonfire of RoS

That's exactly what I'm doing tonight. I need some more vigor for my knight to use the uchi + Knight armor and maintain a decent roll.

I think we may be talking about the same one.
I've heard this twice now, so what is the Uchi two hand parry? How do you perform it?
I know it's two hand it, then L2 (he sets up and sheathes the sword doing that for the arts) what is the button that does this parry? I've heard you can parry with the Uchi but I havent figured it out yet.

i assumed the one you were talking about is where you go down from the bonfire and he's walking outside. blue eyes is when you start from the initial elevator, go down to where all teh knights are patrolling, and he's tucked away in a corner looking at some corpses.
Uchi Parry is L2+R2

Carson, we talked about it a few weeks ago so I'll bring it up. I'm admittedly not too far in the game yet, but people are saying that there are some seemingly direct references in this game to Berserk that are very hard to dispute the way berserk fans do for the other 2 DS games

Second Lord of Cinder is defeated, pretty sure I'm close to a third. I'll probably write a semi-review thing when I'm done.

Also, I don't know if that's your channel, but I feel you on your fume knight sl1 ng+ fight. Took me hours before I was able to do that.
I also tried it on ng+7 and failed too much . I gave up. My crowning achievement was a ng+7 sl1 against Kalameet . I was so full of myself after that. Manus put me in my place after that.
