Cruising through the early stages with no issues so far

I haven't died once. Which is odd.

Had my first death 1 hour and 3 minutes in!

Second death. I'm calling it a night.

Took at least 10 times but that first boss died dammit
Calling it a night now
Went with pyromancer and I figured out that I could hit the boss with fireballs at distance till he transformed before going in close for the kill. Had been going in close from the beginning.

This is much much easier than Bllodborne or DS 2. I've only died 4 times

Never played a dark souls game before. I'm liking this environment a whole lot more than bloodbourne's environment

<---- new to Dark Souls
I'm playing on pc w/o a game controller... any way to have the tool tips show keyboard commands instead of XBOX buttons that i don't have.. I can look up how to do everything... it's just annoying. BTW killed the first boss with a Knight class char... gonna try a few different classes till i find the style i like. Also.. just a bunch of soul currency for beating the crystal monster at the beginning? no uber weapon/armor or anything?

I died once or twice to stupid stuff, but overall that game seems relatively easy.
Liking it a lot more than DS2.

bummed i won't be able to pick this up for another week or so.

Nope. There's gear but not much and it won't be an obvious improvement over what you have. You will be able to upgrade it.

May do this, seems like a good idea

Why aren't you able to play man?
Posted on 4/12/16 at 11:23 am to hawgfaninc
There really isn't a huge reason to try different classes. Overall any class can be molded into any other class with only very minor loss of optimization. It is really more important to decide which melee weapon you like and want to use and also deciding which magic (if any) you want to use.
You can easily take a Sorcerer and stack him up with a bunch of Str and use a big ole hammer if you want or alternatively take a Knight and pump his Int to gain magic ability.

i usually do the inverse of this. start out with a thief type character and add sorcery/pyro later

Yeah you can really do anything, I just wanted it to be clear that new players to the series shouldn't stress too much over starting class since you will almost certainly not end up using any of the crap you start with

Yup. I wonder if they will have respecs in this game
