Ok I wanted to make sure before I created a chalice dungeon. I got myself out of the unseen prison area. Those big guys frick you up fast.

Had BSB down to like 1/8 of health and my breaker tripped. FML.
Before that I spent like an hour grinding to replenish my inventory before the fight. I'm afraid to see if any of it is still there.

Best father gascan finally...that dude was tough. Decided to just slowly back away and throw Molotovs at him when he enraged and he died pretty wuick

No. There's a boss at the end of the Pthumerian dungeons that's related to the story - you get an achievement for it but it's completely optional.

I'm loving this game. I just killed the blood starved beast and right after I lit the lantern I died. I didn't realize he had poisoned me at the end of the fight. So I spawned at the lantern and I was standing on my blood echoes. If only every blood echo recovery was that easy.

Stumbled into Amelia battle, gonna have to change my attack style to beat her. Can't stay as close to her as I am used to for other battles

Only real option I have is the crow armor. It's expensive as shite. Right now Im rocking the armor you find in the sewers at the beginning.

Right above the normal messengers (across from your storage) is a shop that opens when you have 10 insight. You purchase items using insight. So far I've bought Gascoigne's set, the small resonant bell (lets you help other hunters), and the sinister resonant bell (lets you invade other hunters worlds).
ETA: Just bought Ludwig's Holy Blade and upgraded it to +3. Looking forward to taking this thing for a spin.
Ok It's doing less damage than my +3 saw cleaver. I guess I just need to upgrade it more? I've read it's a great weapon.

Quick question, did y'all purchase the key to get to the area where Amelia is, or did you go through the forest. Pretty sure getting the key and opening the gate by the two big guys is the shortcut to her

Amelia was before the forest for me. I opened the gate to the right of the Cathedral Ward. Don't remember how I did it.

Go to the healing workshop, go around the side and drop down. You can drop down two places - there will be a door a few notches down that'll take you to a secret place, if you drop all the way down you'll come to a place in which you can unlock the gate without buying the key. Both are worth exploring.
