No, if you die, you just start at the lamp, as usual. Each level has two lamps. You have several grave stones that you can open as many dungeons as you like, assuming you have enough echoes and the right materials. Materials are farmed inside dungeons.

Awesome. I may do that tonight or advance in game. I'm not sure.

i believe it's called the hidden village... you can get out and there is a lamp there you can light to get back.

The Unseen Village
It is tough. If you look around though, you'll find a girl you can send to the cathedral. She gives you a healing item and a pose.

You can make them and play them at your own leisure. You can play through them now or later, and in to NG+, as the difficulty never scales with whatever NG you're in.
You'll pick up new chalices from the dungeons and from some of the optional bosses later.

Awesome so there is no real rush to do it either.

None. I find them pretty addicting though.

I found the girl..where is the lamp? I wondered into Paarl and he fricked me up
Posted on 4/1/15 at 5:30 pm to musick
the lamp is pretty close to where you wake up in the jail cell. i think you go to the right and up a staircase and there would be a lamp in a large open room
Posted on 4/1/15 at 5:32 pm to musick
Go upstairs and light the lamp. You can warp from and to.

Co-op can be a pain. I've been trying to co-op and invade, and I end up waiting until I give up. I've literally had ONE successful invasion. Insight makes it difficult in the beginning.
I don't understand being able to get the beckoning bell at the beginning and not the resonant bell, which you have to have 10 insight to be able to buy.
I'm going to do a lot of co-op in NG+, especially when some of you get there. I think it will be easier.

Anybody know if not using madman's knowledge immediately had any benefit? I heard the game gets harder the more insight you have. I'm just wondering if keeping them until you get past certain parts is a good idea.

I'm not using it unless I need it. I read up on it earlier and didn't see any reason to use it yet.
