I don't think I'ver died this much in any other game I've ever played I'll say that 
Took a break earlier. Still haven't really made a ton of progress. I think I have the general feel of the game down...man...just staying alive is a full time job. I've leveled up a few of my perks but haven't seen much of a difference.
I am glad this game feels "too long" in a sense because everything besides Destiny I've played recently hasn't been very lengthy.
I am starting to wish I picked the Axe and Blunderbuss instead of the pistol and saw thing

Got the blood starved beast on first try. 
If no one has really used it, the torch is a really good thing to carry in Old Yharnam. Most of the beast will cower or act less aggressive.

I was grinding out blood money, cleared out almost that whole main street, the dark house, and anything around the two main spawn points and my breaker goes out. Probably just lost all of that and I'm about to go jump off a cliff. Jesus this game really tests my patience.

You'll probably load close to where you were. The game saves at all times, basically.

Tomorrow's ps4 firmware patch will be adding suspend/resume. So does that mean you can just stop anywhere in a game and pick right back up where you left off?

As a side note, I recommend buying Father Gasy's clothing for its poison resistance for Old Yharnam.

So after the Hunters set of clothes, where's the next set of stuff? I'm assuming you can buy more weapons

You need to get 10 insight to open the insight shop that is on the 2nd level of the hunter's dream. It looks just like the other shop but it only has the little guys in it when you have 10 insight.

Yea, he was off the gun both times I tried taking him. He uses his shotgun a good bit and also heals a lot.
I haven't tried to best him since I leveled, but he was tough.

He uses the steak driver weapon and a blunderbuss. He will turn into a friendly if you get the black church set, not sure where it is.

I played all evening and finally got the hang of it...I can clear the entire city out...I leveled up.mostly str and end with some vitality in the middle up to lvl 16
But that cleric bitch is kicking my arse I'm using axe and pistol...i can get him down to 1/4 health before all my vials run out.

More items will be unlocked as you progress, weapons, outfits, etc.

For the Cleric Beast, I would goad him to doing his downward strike and hit him then. If he was too close to me, I would wait for him to start a swing and then roll around to his back.
When he yells, stay back from him and wait for him to finish his multi-swing.
Rinse and repeat.
That's how I beat him.
Don't hesitate to run away and heal either.
