Any recommendations on what multiplayer mode a newb should play to get acquainted with the game and idealy level up quicker.

Ehh, it's been about a year and a half since I played any COD. The most recent shooter I've played is GOW3. So I'm mostly struggling with being patient and not rambo, haha.

Hardest thing to learn. I had problems learning how to just average it out. I'm either insanely aggressive (COD) or I hold down a room (Halo 3). Just learning to be semi-aggressive helped my BF3 game out quite a bit. Oh, and playing with other people helps a shite ton.
Birdman is always willing to give me pointers, such as don't suck as much.

don't be terrible. play with a group. the game can be frustrating as hell when starting out and playing alone.

I got the game because a friend was bugging me to play with him. So I should be on a team most of the time, but last night I was alone and that first match was frustrating as hell.
