Supposedly you can get this game for 40 bucks at Walmart, there's a thread on slickdeals about it.

Going pick mine up after work. Been looking forward to finishing Ezio's story for a good while. Didn't know they were continuing Desmond's after this one!

Could throat chop someone right now.

Went and picked up my copy on the way home from work today. Did my system update (it's been a bit since I turned on the PS3). Put in the disk and the motherfricker won't play.

Headed back to Gamestop and hopefully a disk switched out will work. I'm able to play everything else from Blu-Ray movies to stuff like Little Big Planet 2/Red Dead Redemption/etc so I'm thinking it has to be the disk.

I've gotten through a little more than an hour or so of the game...the story is pretty random and dull compared to AC2 & ACB...shite better unfrick itself or I'm gonna occupy Ubisoft.

I'm enjoying the hell out of this game. The Constantinople part is cool, but the Desmond part with the other ppl randomly talking is confusing the hell outta me, I'm sure it'll work itself out in due time

The bomb crafting is a cool addition to the game-sticky bombs the most fun, but so far I haven't really used any of them other than the one, nor do I see them being essential for missions unless the game actually makes you use them.

The den defense is stupid. Really hope they get rid of this for AC3.

Also, my code for PS3 bonus content doesn't work, so frick you ubisoft.

Apparently I had an incorrectly pressed disk and all is well after the exchange.

Not too far in but I enjoyed the intro too. Played a little multiplayer and enjoyed that. AC2 was great for me but this has some potential. Just have to get used to the new controls/weapons options.

I love this series but the den defense is killing me. One of the most obnoxious things ever. I'm getting my third den attack in the past 20 minutes...lost every one so far since the tutorial one. No idea what to do since i was drunk last night for the explanation.

Good things about ACR-hook blade is useful sometimes, combat is still the same...I guess that's a good thing...countering and chaining attacks together, sticky bombs.

The bad-no wanted posters to lower your attention meter, renovating shops causes your attention meter to go up, den defense, doesn't seem as smooth as past ACs, nothing real special about the environment...in fact it's pretty boring so far. The Borgia tower thing is back...I fricked hated it in ACB and I hate it still in ACR. I don't give a shite about taking pointless towers. Make the story line longer/more coherent instead of filler like this damn it.

Yeah it won't let me open the dynamic theme either. Lamesauce.

I hate the den defense as well. Only encountered it once and won, but only because I put a bunch of barricades back to back, then armed them with gunned men, put lots of those guys on the roofs, and upgraded my barricades as soon as it gave me the option. That fricking battering ram deal they had almost took me out but somehow I managed to destroy it before it took out my last barricade.

I don't care for the den defense either.

I guess I'm alone on the defense. I'm enjoying the hell out of it. I'm loving the game thus far, but it is my favorite series of all time, so I might be a bit biased. I'm about to get my Vlad sword, so looking forward to that. I am more overwhelmed with this game than any of the others. There just seems like so much to do.

I finally figured out the Den Defense...now I've defended 3 of the last 4. I also have Den leaders at all of them so I'll see how that goes. Hopefully I'm done with it.

Love everything else. The setting is not nearly as fun as Italy, but the game still rocks. I haven't gotten very far in the story yet.

Climbed all of the towers that are available (still one out of my memory zone). Took out all of the Templar strongholds with the towers. Recruited all of my assassins and have all at least level 10 with a couple at 14.

Did the Vlad tomb last night and the first Altair memory. Tonight I'm going to get back to the main story for a bit. And maybe try out a Desmond memory or two.

I'm never pre-ordering a game via snail mail ever again. Was told I'd get it the day it came out or the day after. And Walmart has the shelf full of them but all I can do is look and drool.

Finished the game last night. I liked it but frick TOWER DEFENSE. It has no business being in the game and ended up being extremely annoying. The game's story was fragmented and a little weird at times, but that's to be expected when you jump between Ezio, Altair, and Desmond's memories so often. I didn't like it as much as Brotherhood and certainly not as much as AC2, but it was still a pretty good game.

Now... when does AC3 come out? :addicted:

I had a hell of a time fighting the urge to wall run - turn - jump to reach edges quicker :mirrorsedge:

Tower defense, what the hell am I missing on the big machines on the last wave? Should I just mass the hell out of assassins the entire time and whittle it down that way, or is there a trick I'm not understanding yet?

The game feels like a "Well Ezio has more to come and we have a couple loose ends, but we don't want to throw that into AC3, so let's toss it all together". Thankfully I enjoy the hell out of the gameplay so even if the story seems fragmented I enjoy the game.

Here's how I approach the tower defense.

Start out with a barrier or two. Then I put a leader on every rooftop (at least two at first if I don't have enough morale points...add more as soon as I can).

I then max out with riflemen. Loot as much as you can with the waves coming in. Keep adding as many riflemen as you can (morale should be increasing if you're looting) along the route. Upgrade the barriers as much as you can.

I don't know if there's a limit on number of cannons you can fire so I save them for the final big machine. You should have a dozen or more riflemen firing plus the cannon plus Ezio targeting with his gun. Seems to work well. The key is having as many riflemen as you can.
