My son is saving up his money for a VR system. What would this board recommend? Or another option?
We have a PS4 and will more than likely buy the PS5 when it comes out so I'm leaning towards the PS VR assuming it will be compatible with the PS 5.

I don't know much about VR but PS VR has Astro Bot Rescue Mission. Which is supposed to be one of the better games out there for VR. It is like a VR mario. So depending on his age he may enjoy it.

Aside from maybe a handful of titles, the VR producers are making their content for HTV, Rift and PSVR so it's only the rare title that will be available on only one system.
With that said, my recommendation is the Quest due to the mobility factor. Not only can he take it with him (rainy days during vacation, to the grandparents' house, to a friend's house who also has a VR setup, etc) but it means he can play in bigger spaces (like the outdoors) as long as he has connectivity.
I say this as a Rift S owner. I enjoy the hell out of my system but there are quite a few times I wish it were more mobile.

My brother in law got a Quest for Christmas.
I will gut punch him if he comes over without bringing that thing over. Its load of fun. I thought strongly about buying one myself but then i was a little worried of the Wii affect and that it would lose its enjoyment if i owned one myself.
So i will just play his whenever he is over.

Thanks to all for the advice. Any worry with the Quest about running out of storage room?
