Still cant fathom this. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE???

Not me, I've bought and rebought every major console release. I would buy a Trilogy pack again for sure.

But you're probably referring to Nintendo's primary audience that typically don't support Metroid: The island of Japan.

It's kind of like Shadow of Colossus or Persona. Lots of fans on the internet, but both barely sell 1-2 million.

Yup.

To be honest, I have a feeling if Samus was a guy, they’d sell even less.

The Prime games were so great. I remember when I played the original ones (I was like...7-8 when the first one came out), I was just so enamoured by the gameplay and the world. I loved how sci-fi the world was and how creepy it was at times. Some parts were straight up horrifying and the music was GREAT. Like Glitch Mob tier stuff but more controlled and atmospheric.

On the topic of smash, it won’t be a port. The logo is brand new and the way the logo pops on the screen is just like Melee and 64. If it WAS a port, it would be an HD Melee.
One thing I DESPERATELY hope for is that they add Sheik and Zero Suit back to their respective characters. It’s just taking up another character spot they could be using for something else. I think Smash is finally on a system that can bring out its full potential and include everything with the best looking graphics.

Smash 4 was close but they just HAD to pander to the 3DS crowd, so they excluded some major things from the title for the sake of fairness, which in my opinion wasn’t fair at all.

Then there's no way in hell it's going to be 2018. 2020 would be a safer bet. They have to be using the same engine, because then they're just lying or delusional if they think they could have it out by the end of this year.

Nintendo no longer needs the Wii U or it’s games. It needs the switch systems sold as quick as possible and as much as possible. I imagine that based on the window it’s being developed that if it’s a new game, it’s most likely a skeleton version of a new Smash title that will be added on much more and will last much longer than previous smash titles.

Interesting thought, but Nintendo has been pretty hesitant on any big DLC/FtP type system.

I THINK this would go against their ideals, and SFV was blasted for how it tried it, and when they see stuff like that Nintendo gets super scared. On the flip side Killer Instinct has been great. I could see it happening, but I wouldn't put it as likely.

Link was the link from BoTW and inklings, plus the whole saying nothing thing... I do actually believe this is a new Smash.

I do believe it's going to be running on a altered version of the WiiU / 3DS title (similar to Splatoon) but better than how Splatoon did it, because they can remove the 3DS "downgrade" code that would be in the game engine.

I believe it ends up being a brand new game, with more characters - and really, the funny thing is, it could easily be almost the exact same game - because the WiiU / 3DS smash didn't really have a number assigned to it.

And it was a solid engine, and the cracked Melee tweaks were interesting as well.

I wouldn't be disappointed if they went with the same engine. It was already 60fps, HD. That's really the key for Smash.

I never said it was paid though.

In my opinion if it followed that specific route, I’d give out a smash ballot every 6 or so months to add on new character(s). That would keep the rabbid smash fans at bay for a good while I would like to think. Essentially what they are doing with Splatoon to a WAYYYYYY lesser extent.

For maybe the first year...some free characters to beef up the game and add more depth to it. Then we can start asking for the crash bandicoots and the 2Bs of the world.

2B for smash? It’s perfect!

I have just come up with a new mode that Smash has screwed with in the past one with Smash Tour, and I’ll call it Line Matches. So basically at the start of each match you choose how many “stocks” you’ll have. And instead of the stocks being lives, they’re individual characters.

So here would be the rules. Let’s say you set it to 5 lives: your 5 lives would each be tied to a different character. You can only choose each character once. So each time your character is killed, a different one takes its place until all 5 are killed. This also encourages assholes who only play as one character to diversify. This mode can have tops of 10 lives and doesn’t go further. This seems like a no-brainer mode with Smash that I’m shocked that they haven’t done before.

Especially since it's a pretty basic format in all the Pokemon franchise including Pokken Tournament.
