I decided since I make big jumps only every 5 years or so to go with the 1440. Beautiful picture. My last monitor was a 23" 1050 so I am going from the Jersey Shore to sitting on Miami Beach.

I wonder how my 7870 ghz would run 1440, my guess it I would have to turn AA off completely and maybe lower some settings

would playing a ps3 on a 27" monitor be any better or worse (picture quality wise) than playing on a standard 27" HDTV ?
I'm assuming the picture would look the same for the most part, but not sure if the hdtv or monitor might be more prone to a slightly grainier display with the ps3

Oh hai. We have the same 7970. I haven't bought my 1440 monitor just yet as I wanted to sell my 670 first. Transferring the cash to my bank account from PayPal now.
