I still don't understand the point of what and why they are hacking Sony. Is it cool or something? Am i missing out for not hacking into a corporations systems and just fricking stuff up?

their argument is that they own the hardware, they should be allowed to modify it how they see fit
only problem is that you violate the agreement with psn, which is a choice made by each user, so why should geohot get sued for other peoples decisions?

Because Sony went as far as including YouTube and Google because jailbreaking info was posted on their sites.
The hackers feel as consumers, they have the freedom to do as they wish with their PS3 while Sony's trying to have all info about jailbreaking removed.

its just a bandwagon at this point. as you may have noticed every time someone hacks a site even remotely linked to sony it gets media headlines. those headlines get linked around by people who have no clue how common most of this kind of stuff is.
someone needs to sticky a "______ site hacked, LULZ" thread for the once a week hacking that will make news until the media gets bored and moves on.
