It's not custom play books - it's almost certainly uniform related. You have to delete the game data file. When you start up the game again, it will download the latest updates from ea, and you should be good.

Yes everything is normal. Just let it go through and then everything will be back to where it was. It's going to load or download something after the first thing as well.
