I hate the CPU's hurry up offense. Impossible to stop and usually they snap the ball before my fatass d-line and get back so its a free play for the CPU beacuse I get the encrochment penalty nearly every time.

no they don't, there are two separate development studios.

My only complaint in the game so far is the fact that kick returns are way too easy. I am using ULM in a 1 star dynasty and I played Arizona State last night and they returned 4 kickoffs back.

Two different teams design the games, even if they are from the same studio. Just think about it, and how much work it would take to produce two entirely different games at the same time. It would be impossible to do for just one team.

They intentionally make the games different in some aspects to keep the "feel" different. The Madden team felt that the game they put out last year was spot on as far as the engine goes, so they had more time to concentrate on the presentation angle of the series.

NCAA on the other hand, still had its fair share of gameplay issues. There is nothing wrong with this game. It might not be perfect, but year over year it improves on itself, and I can justify the purchase as such.

On the other hand, when all you do is make things prettier on the same game, and offer me no real gameplay upgrades, I will not buy your product.

This year I will be skipping Madden 10 (for the first time since '03) and I skipped Tiger Woods. The way TW offers you the exact same game is sickening. I bout '07 and '09, and unless much changes next year, I won;t buy '11 either.

1. Why does a 1-4 team play like they are the best in the country? I was up against the CPU and got my arse handed to me 34-10.

I'm through 4 games on my 2nd season. First season, went 10-3 with Oregon. Lost to USC, Oregon St in OT, and Ok St in the bowl. Beat the rest of the Pac 10 (including Cal, Az St, etc) and 2 top 25 teams OOC. So far this year, I'm 2-2. Lost to Ohio St and AZ St, beat Alabama and destroyed Wazzu. Seems pretty close to accurate to me. Maybe you need to lower the level?

2. Why can't I complete a pass down field? I am terrified to throw the ball. I am currently in a dynasty with Texas Tech, a pass oriented team. Well, let's just say that my best player is my RB. My receivers do not run the correct routes, plus the CPU defenders know every single play I call before I hike the ball. Pass interference is never called against the CPU.

I'm usually OK passing it. I've never noticed my WR's not running the right routes. As far as the CPU knowing every single play. Do you run the same play over and over? Or do you only use 2-3 plays in each formation? The AI's a lot better this year at picking up your tendencies, which I think is great. If you mix it up a lot (and by mixing it up, I don't mean just changing formations, but also using a bunch of different plays in each formation), the CPU shouldn't pick it up easily. I will say, though, you're correct about the PI, which annoys me.

3. What's up with the camera? When I roll out why can't I see my receiver? The camera in this game sucks arse.

I think the camera's better than previous years.

Overall, I think this game is much better than what's it's been in the past few years.

Buckeye, I am glad you brought up the AI being better because I forgot about that when I was trying to explain some things. You are absolutely right ... if you throw the ball straight down the field on go routes a lot, the cpu is going to be all over it. Just like I've been saying in other posts, EA wanted to make the user come up with a game plan for every game this year. I personally like it very much.

Yeah I really like the game. I like that, even if you manage to get behind the coverage, it is not a sure-fire thing that your guy will hold on to the ball. I like that you can't just dump it to a back for 15 at any given time. Or run up the middle with a 200lb quarterback and not worry about getting obliterated (although some of the other fumbles are pretty shitty). My first dynasty season, I killed bad teams and had competitive games against good teams. UF in the SEC Champ game took a goal line stand with under a minute left. Same thing with Bama. Killed OU in the National Championship, but that's about as realistic as it gets, isn't it?

Sounds to me your just mad because you suck at the game.

Sorry, but I have no problem beating teams who suck, not even teams who are ranked in the top 5. Only teams I really have a hard time playing against are Bama and Cal because of their running game.

I have no problem throwing the ball..idk what you are doing wrong but I've played against 3 people in my online Dynasty and I, nor them have had any trouble passing.

I actually think the d covers the fly worse than last years. Last year post routes were wide open down the field all the time and any deep ball was swatted down on the fly route. I find this year if someone blitz and leaves 1 on 1 coverage the fly route kills them if you know how to control a wr.

Last year I read an article about it on IGN. I wish I could link, but I don't remember what article (game review/preview) it was in. Unless they've changed things this year, I'd assume it would be the same set up.

It's two different teams. They do share some stuff together, but they're basically independent of each other. If something works well for Madden, NCAA will often pick it up the next year - vice versa.

Ian Cummings leads the Madden Team. Adam Thompson leads the NCAA team. Both post on Operationsports often, as do other members of their teams.

I've never heard it said, but it seems like the Madden team has a LOT more resources at their disposal, meaning staff and money. Not surprising as Madden is the big money maker. That's why it's hard for me to fault the NCAA team for some of the shortcomings. Now faulting EA, that's another story.
